So close yet so far (Part 10)

Sakshi- What do we do now?

Riya- I am going in!

Noooo screamed Sakshi and Liza together. Riya looked at them surprised. While Liza further continued.

Liza- No Riya you are still weak it is not safe for you to go in there 

Sakshi- Yes Riya wait for the back up team. I just called them they will be hear soon. 

Riya- No, if something happens to them while the backup is on their way? I have to go him

Liza- Then we will come with you

Riya- No both of you are not trained and besides I am fine now I can go. 

Though both of them were reluctant the knew that Riya was right and she was the last option to ensure that the team was safe hence both of them agreed. Riya took her gone and made her way inside. She took light and slow steps making sure that no one sees her and neither does she tip a barrel over. As she neared the centre hiding behind barrels she heard voices.

Voice 1- Arey chup! Just shut up, what do you think of your selfs? You came here with merely 5 people to stop my consignment? None of you will make it alive from here.

There were laughs, Riya peeked out and the sight made her breath hitch. The ETF team were tied against a beam as they struggled to free themselves. Riya took quick yet careful steps towards the team while covering herself with the barrels. She saw the suspect who they had spotted in the club the other day with a few other goons. 

She knew she was outnumbered and could not take the goons t down single handedly she looked around to find an idea on how to distract the goons when stones beneath her foot caught her eyes. She picked up a medium sized stone, aimed at the opposite side and threw it. The sound made the goons alert as a few of the made their way towards the sound to see what had caused it. 

Riya sneaked till the pillars where the ETF members were tied. Chotu, Shree and Ayesha were tied to the pillar which she was standing behind. While Rathore and Arjun were tied to the next one. Riya quickly unties the ropes, on the other hand the three of the feel the rope loosen around them and look at each other with shocked faces. But instead of dwelling on the questions that roamed in their minds they knew it was time for action. 

The quickly untangled themselves, reached for their guns that had been thrown to the ground out of their reach and started firing. In the meantime Riya opened Rathore's and Arjun's rope as well who both also immediately got into action. Riya also joined them. When everybody saw her their doubts immediately cleared. They realised that Riya had sneaked in and had untied the ropes.

They all are fighting with the goons when one goon tries to attack Riya with a rod from behind. Arjun immediately sees that and runs towards her. He holds the rod so it does not hit her head and that moment Riya turns around. They share a deep, passionate eye lock. Riya's eyes denote the immense pain that she had gone through, the mere thought of him away from her had made her shudder but now it was the reality and fact pierced daggers through her heart. On the other hand Arjun was baffeled by the sudden change in her eyes. Pain is what he saw but why? he questioned. Their eye lock broke because of the goon struggling to pull the rod out of Arjun's grip. In turn Arjun punches the goon as he falls to the ground wincing in pain.  

Within no time the back up arrived and ETF with the help of backup force took down the goons. All of them made their way to the SUV. Arjun took the driver seat and Riya was about take the passenger seat when Sakshi did that first. Riya's stomach knotted and tears welled in her eyes. She took a deep breath composing herself and took a seat behind. Once they were done they left for the ETF office not a word was uttered by anyone the whole journey. While the bosses were frustrated at their incapability of keeping themselves and the team safe, they were also upset that a person dear to them had to risk her life to save them when she was ill. The trio (Shree, Chotu and Ayesha) were sad on the fact that they could not do anything when they were tied up despite being trained officers. The three other girls understood the reason behind their silence and decided to keep shut so nobody feels uncomfortable. 

After sometime the SUV pulled into the ETF office parking lot. All of them made their way to the conference room. They took their seats and then Rathore spoke.

Rathore- Riya thank you so much for coming inside and saving us. This case has been successfully completed because of you, and the 5 of us are safe because of you. So thank you once again

Riya- Sir please, no need to say thank you it was my duty after all

Shree- No Ri Rathore sir is right, you were not well and it was neither your duty or responsibility at that time.  

Chotu and Ayesha nodded in agreement. 

Riya- Shree! No matter what condition I am in I am always ready to step up and risk my life to save the lives of my loved ones.

Finally Arjun spoke.

Arjun- Good job Riya

Before he got an answer he left for his cabin. 

Rathore- Guys complete the paperwork and then you all can leave 

All of them nodded an sat to complete the paperwork. The team was working on the paperwork when the heard the noise of a glass shattering all of them looked at each other stunned. The immediately sprung up to their feet and rushed towards the source of the sound.

Hope you all liked the update. It was a short yet sweet one not much of Ariya but the coming update will have a lot of Ariya moments.
