Listening to music was the cure for my lifestyle. My best friend - Aerosmith, my love - Steven Tyler. Well, not literally, but a girl can dream right?

Allow me to introduce myself - Sophie Marie Perry, but I prefer Soph. I'm 20, but I'm gonna be 21 in a few days - June 28th. That's also the day Aerosmith are playing in London!!

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, I'm English. Originally from Essex, but now me and my Mum live in Cambridge, which is convenient as I go, well went to Cambridge University so I just live at home.

So, you're probably wondering why music is my cure? Or why I even need a cure? Well, my Mum is depressed, an alcoholic, never there for me etc. I love her, but I wish she'd snap out of it and be there for me, it's too hard for me to manage. My Dad's not here, I don't even know him or who he is - Mum won't tell me.

Secondly, as the cherry on top of the fucking tree, I have the nicest boyfriend in the world. Yeah, scars, bruises, cuts, breaks, fractures, rape, mental abuse. They are my reward for dating his sorry arse. I would leave him but then...even more scars, even more bruises, even more cuts, even more breaks, even more fractures, even more rape and even more mental abuse. You get the picture? His name's Mike - unless you couldn't tell, he's a lovely guy. (Hint the sarcasm, I do that a lot.)

The best part is, my Mum's too drunk or high to notice...or care.

So, I turned to music, mostly 70s rock, some 80s and a bit 60s. So, as I said before, Aerosmith is my favourite band, and I am completely and utterly in love with their lead singer, Steven Tyler. He's gorgeous, charismatic, talented and has the nicest arse!!

Loads of people love the lead guitarist Joe Perry. I don't though, I don't dislike him - oh no, far from it. He just seems familiar to me somehow? He looks a bit like me (but a dude version, and older.) He's also got the same surname as me, so that would be weird. But yeah, there's just something oddly familiar about him, I'm not sure what though.

It's funny, when I talk to other Aerosmith fans, I pretend I'm Joe Perry's daughter - it's great when they believe me.

I work at a music shop, it's not much but it pays well for a starter job. I'm saving up all my money, and just after I hit 21, I'm moving - to California - LA. My uni course in History was 3 years so I got a 1st degree. Swag right? Anyway, so me and my best friend, Amy are going to this Aerosmith concert on my birthday. Then I'll be off.

I'll miss Amy, but apart from that, I'll be shouting 'Adios motherfuckers!' As I get on that plane to freedom.
