"We're here! Come on honey, wake up!" I heard, whilst I felt being shaken.

I groaned and rolled over on my seat, trying to get comfortable.

"Come ok, we're here! Lets go!" I heard again, I think it was Dad.

I slowly opened my eyes, cringing at the bright light on the plane. I gasped and jumped up when I realised we were in Los Angeles. I grabbed my bags and sprinted off the plane and down the stairs.

Instantly, I felt the warm Californian air on my skin and I loved it. "It's so warm here compared to England, I love it!" I exclaimed.

The guys were all laughing and smiling at my reaction. "I'm glad you like it!" Dad said back, putting an arm round me.

We went through the border and got all our bags, before walking back outside and saying goodbye. I hugged all of the guys (minus Dad), but when I hugged Steven it felt better than the rest. Our hug seemed to last longer than the others.

It was nothing to worry about though, it was just a crush, it's not like I had proper feelings for him. I mean, he was just a guy. He didn't mean that much to me! Nah, what was I thinking, he's just a rock star crush.

Ok, so maybe I have feelings for him, but it's not like I'm gonna act on it. I just found my Dad and I'm not gonna do anything to screw it up between us. Well, I'm gonna try anyway.

Dad and I were sitting in the taxi awkwardly, the silence was deafening. "So..err...where should I stay? Are there any cheap hotels/motels around?" I asked.

"You'll stay with me and Billie." He replied.

"Are you sure? I don't wanna be in your way! I can stay somewhere else if you'd like." I offered. I was scared to meet his wife, she was my Step-Mum and I was worried of what she'd think about me.

"Yes, you're my daughter. You can stay with us as long as you like - it would be our pleasure." He smiled, warmly and sweetly.

"Thanks Dad. It means a lot. But I'll get a job out there and as soon as I have enough money to rent an apartment I will!" I blushed.

"That's ok, anytime. And you don't have to worry about it! But thanks." He replied, still smiling.

I then smiled back, trying to show him my appreciation. I truly was grateful for him flying me here and for him letting me stay with him.

After another few minutes of awkward silence, Dad said, "look, Soph, I don't wanna be all naggy, like most fathers get, but I wanna talk to you." He paused, looking to see if it was ok for him to carry on, so I nodded. "I've noticed that you and Steven are having a..err..little..umm...what's the word...thing. Yeah, a little..thing. And, I love the guy to death, I do, but I've seen him break countless women's hearts and I don't want that to be you."

"Thanks. I do have a bit of a crush on him, I must admit, but to be fair I have had one for so many years now. You have nothing to worry about." I replied.

I was honest for the most part, but did he have something to worry about? I wasn't even sure myself anymore.

We had a few little conversations, a bit of small talk, nothing big. But, after a while, the taxi came to a halt. I was nervous and excited at the same time.

Dad paid the driver, and we got out and grabbed our bags. The house was huge!! I couldn't wait to see the inside!

We walked up to the front door, before Dad unlocked it and we walked in. I gasped at the sight. It was really modern and luxurious, yet it had a really comfortable look about it.

Billie came running to the front door and hugged Dad as we just got in. I thought it was so cute - they truly were in love.

When Billie released Dad she saw me and got a bit suspicious. He led us into the kitchen and told her to sit down. He told her the story of him and my Mum hooking up, as he did with me, and at the end explained that I was his daughter and was moving to LA. He also told her that he invited me to stay with them until I got on my feet here and had enough money to buy an apartment etc.

Billie was shocked, but once she recovered, a genuine smile appeared on her face. "It's lovely to meet you Soph!" She exclaimed, pulling me into a hug.

"You too Billie." I replied, hugging her back.

We all talked for a bit. Billie was such a lovely person and was so understanding of everything. She was fun to talk to and accepted me, even though I came from a different woman.

I was shattered, so I got shown to one of their guest rooms. I said goodnight and shut the door, dumping my bags on the floor.

The room was lovely! It had a light turquoise colour for the walls, and the ceiling and the carpet on the floor was white. Most things in the room were either turquoise or white, and a few things were black. It had a big double bed, a TV and a bathroom.

The bathroom had a toilet, sink, shower and big bath with jacuzzi jets. It was all black or white.

I got changed into pyjamas, took off my makeup and cleaned my teeth and washed my face. I brushed out my hair and put on some night cream on my face and hands and some Vaseline on my lips.

I got into the big comfortable bed, and wrapped up warm in the sheets. My mind filled with wonderful thoughts of this amazing state and the brilliant people I had around me. I quickly fell asleep, a permanent smile plastered on my face.
