Ch.17

I refused to get out of the car. Liam had my door open and was practically trying to pull me out, but I wouldn't budge. "Love, do you WANT to miss your flight?" he questioned me. "Uh, YES!" I replied, crossing my arms. "Catherine, you have family and friends waiting for you, you can't let them down." I hated when he was right.

With a sigh, I swung out of the car and saw that Liam already had my bag. Dragging my feet, we checked in my bag and in no time, my flight was called. When we got to my gate, I abruptly stopped. I didn't want to leave at all, and it was so hard to even hand over my ticket.

I turned to Liam with tears in my eyes and my heart seized up when I realized that Liam was also teary. He smiled and went to say something, but I silenced him with a kiss. Words would not do, only actions would convey what I was feeling.

I pulled away and my flight was called for the last time. I hugged him tight once more and turned to the guy who was scanning the tickets. I took one last look at Liam and blew him a kiss, where he gestured that he caught it and pressed it into his heart.

I got to my seat and sorted myself out. The stewardess was going through the safety procedures so I plugged in my headphones and scrolled through the movies. Suddenly a notification replaced the movie selection screen and I almost burst into tears when I read the simple block letters. *The following message is to Catherine, who is sitting in seat 50, Section C.*

A video started and Liam's face popped up on the screen. "This is for my fantastic and amazing girlfriend who is currently on her flight back to Australia, where she will be leaving me here. I love you." He smiled into the camera and sat back with a guitar nestled in his lap. Just seeing Liam in the studio room made my eyes well up. He began to play something on the guitar and I actually started bawling when I realized that it was 'More Than This'. He finished and looking into the camera, making me feel as if there was no screen and he was looking directly into my eyes. "Have a safe trip, love." The screen went black and the man next to me tapped my shoulder.

I looked to the old, friendly-looking man and managed a smile. I took my headphones off and asked him what was wrong. "Sweetie, are you seat 50, Section C?" I silently nodded and looked down, wiping away a tear. The man called over the stewardess and told her who I was. She smiled excitedly and pulled me up.

"Everyone, this is Catherine!" The passengers all cheered as clapped, and I smiled and blushed. As I sat back down, a few girls came up and asked for a photo or signature. It was all so new to me, to have this much attention.

After almost an hour of smiling and answering questions about Liam, I finally had time to myself. I reclined my chair back as far it would go and rolled over, closing my eyes. I thought about my holiday and Liam - mostly Liam - until I drifted off to sleep. Even in my sleep, all I could dream about were his warm arms.
