Ch.6
Lauren's Perspective
As I walked up the stairs with an arm full of McDonalds, I pondered the prominent event that had just happened. I'd known Catherine long enough to know that sympathy food was necessary for her smile to even make an appearance. As I got to the door, I had the nagging sense that something was wrong. I knocked and was met with a wall of silence.
"Catherine? Catherine, open the door please." I smacked my palm against the door, still with no response. "Catherine, open the door, I'm serious." Relief spread through me when she responded with a strangled voice. "No." I started to panic.
I put the food down and searched for a spare key under the mat. None. As I searched, I found her phone strewn on the ground. There was only one way that I could get her to open the door. I hesitantly picked up the phone and texted Liam. I knew that he wouldn't pick up if I rang so instead I wrote:
To: Liam
Its Lauren. You have to come now; Catherine's locked herself in her apartment and won't open up. Come ASAP!
