‘Don’t worry about Susan,’ John said as he came into the living room
‘Why not?’ Maryann asked
‘She’s asleep,’
‘Oh…’
‘Why don’t we talk,’ John said
‘But didn’t we talk yesterday?’ Maryann asked
‘You’re Octavia Freeman aren’t you?’
Maryann didn’t say anything
‘You are; let me guess you’re parents didn’t want you to go into Child care or something like that?’
‘Close.’ Maryann sighed, but maybe… just maybe it’ll do her some good to tell someone what was wrong. ‘It’s a long story,’
‘Don’t worry we’ve got the time,’ John said as he sat on the couch.
