‘Hey John?’ Maryann asked as they watched television.
‘Yes Mary?’ John said
‘Why do you call me ‘Mary’ instead of Maryann?’
‘Sorry Susan calls you Mary all the time, so-’
‘I get it; you call me that because Susan does.’ Maryann said
‘Pretty much.’ John said ‘And I have an idea.’
‘You have an idea,’
‘Yes,’ John said ‘It says that Annie Freeman is coming to America.’
‘And,’ Maryann said trying to figure out what the point was.
‘You talk to her,’
‘What,’ Maryann shouted ‘I don’t want to talk to her.’
‘Why not?’
‘What if she tries to take me back,’
‘I doubt she will,’ John said
‘Why not?’
‘She said that you were dead and that you committed suicide.’ John said a serious look on his usually playful face ‘And I don’t think she’ll be able to explain how you came back from the dead.’
‘You sure about that John,’ Maryann whispered.
‘I’m sure, but you have to trust me for it to work,’
