Life in Forge City is not that bad, as you might think. It is very hard, that is true but as far as I heard it is hard in other cities too. Unfortunately for me, I was in this world alone. My parents left me when I was little and I was raised by a veteran soldier who was working in the Forge City. His name was Adrius Brucetus and he was the best person who I had in my life.

Adrius was once a great soldier, he held a lot of imperial battle medals and honours. He fought in great battles against rebels and enemies of the Imperium. For him soldier's duty was was everything. Well, there was one thing which meant more to him than that. That was his wife, Anya Victoria. She was his first and only love. They have met during service in the imperial army, in that time they were both young and full of dreams and ideals. They fought together in many battles during slave rebellions and unrests on a continent of Pheapica. They served in the same century and became very close. Anya was very special, she could be dedicated to her fellow soldiers, kind to them but when it was necessary she could be ruthless and merciless. That was what centurion (commander) of her unit was impressed by, but that wasn't the only thing. She was tall and strong, the same as her fellow soldiers but what was unique about her were her eyes and hair. She had some kind of a genetical disorder which caused that her eyes had a golden colour and her hair was blue as the sky itself. Even best imperial scientists, nor healers from the Citadel knew what gave her such appearance. It was even said by some that she was one of the Valkyries, helpers of Odin, the main god in the warriors' religion. For this, on the battlefields her callsign was Valkyrie.

During one of the routine transports, Anya's unit was ambushed and she was wounded. The wound was so serious that medics were not giving her big chances for recovery. But he got through it, when she was recovered it was called a miracle by everyone. During her recovery, Adrius managed to catch responsible for the ambush and executed them without mercy, since then he called 'Angel of death'. After ten years, when the situation on Pheapica calmed down and fighting stopped, Strategos, the highest military imperial commander, himself came to the continent to honour father and Anya. Strategos gave them a choice, either continue in service as High imperial commanders or go to retirement. Not many soldiers have ever been given such choice but Strategos knew about their great achievements during many campaigns and together with Imperator came to a conclusion that they have proven their loyalty to the Imperium more than any other soldier.

Adrius and Anya returned to Oros, to fathers home city of Armorica. They've got married a couple of months after that. Their marriage was full of love and passion, yet not complete. Because even though as much as they tried, they didn't have any children. Even that they did not have any children, they found a way how to satisfy themselves. Even that they were offered the best house in the living section of Armorica they always refused, they lived very simple lives, every money they made were given to those who needed them to most. For their help to others, they were shown as an example of perfect imperial citizens, perfect servants of Imperium and gods alike. Anya was in charge of one factory operated by children, she was chief of internal security and was supposed to prevent from thefts. She knew that when a child was caught, it lost a hand for a committed a crime. She did not agree with this, nor did other guards, so she ordered them to just overlook the thefts, for the sake of the children. Father was in charge of the entire city guard garrison. They were both great in what they were doing but one day something happened, something that changed my father forever.
