Chapter 45

On the way the Imperial Palace Julius told me that he had someone look into what I asked him, that being family of the Assassin who murdered my mother. Julius told me that they were alive, which was a good thing but the bad one was that they were in extermination camp of on Unora, I figured that that was a place where I needed to go if I was to same them, and not only them but everyone in there, because they were exactly the kind of people I wished to get onto the Terra Nova.

As we rode through the city it was impressive to see how it was decorated. Flags of the Imperium were everywhere, poople in ceremonial clothes were everywhere, even in the air I could feel the happiness . The city filled with happy people who were cheering, finishing last decorations and just wandering arend, there was so much noises on the streets.

We rode past the People's Hall. I noticed the look some people on the street were giving us, Lana explains that it is because we were in vehicles of the Secret Police and rode in a convoy position, the people on the street didn't know what to think about us. Some of the children who were on the street waved at us as they were excited to see the convoy.

On the way, I and Valeria were admiring each other's dress and I realized that she was as nervous as me myself about today. As we talked, her voice was twitching a bit, which was cute and adorable. Along the way we calmed ourselves by holding hand and gentle kissing, for which we received a bit annoyed look from Julius.

Overall ride to the Imperial Palace was peaceful, as were rode through the parts of city there were more and more people which caused that the traffic began to fail. For me it was surprising to see so many people in the streets already.

In order to get into the Palace we had to get to the more less center of a center of the city, the way took us about two hours. There was an area which was as if one giant park, throughout the park there were flagpoles on which flags hung. There were hundreds of them in its middle where was as if a rectangular structure filled with water. Behind the structure was a statue of a man and woman holding a flag of the Imperium together, both of them wore an military armor, they facial expression showing pride in their faces, for some reason the man reminded me of Adrius and the woman reminded me of Anya, but I think that it was just me imagination. The statue was higher even than the Imperial Palace itself, which was in close proximity behind the statue.

The Palace was magnificent, surrounded by walls on which were guards walking. The gate was made of gold and on its both sides were other guards with rifles in their hands. From the window of the car we were looking through the golden gate onto the Palace. It was long hundreds meters in the middle and on both sided as well. On the top of the middle complex was a glass dome, walls were made of purely white marble, large windows made sure that light was in the rooms and corridors, as the light from the sun was shining onto the marble there were shinning spots in which were fragments of some lights-sensitive minerals. On the yard behind the golden gate there were guards with dogs walking from one place to another and back.

Our cars stopped in front of the golden gate and guards came to the first car. A window of the car opened and the driver, who was most likely agent of the Secret Police or someone from the Ordo, began to talk with the guard. We in the second car couldn't hear what they were saying but what Valeria saw was the as the two spoke, the guard came to my window, bowed his head and said "It is an pleasure to meet you, Wanderer. Ave Imperator."

"Thank you, soldier. Ave Imperator." I answered him and he let us through.

The golden gate opened and we went inside the yard. We rode behind the wall and cars stopped in the area where was an ceremonial unit of soldiers standing. All of them, except for one, were wearing ceremonial white uniform with golden strings in it. The one soldier who had a different uniform, he had a black uniform with a red armband in which was golden eagle which had a planet in its claws, on his head he had a black visor cap. Soldier in black uniform came to the car and opened door for me and Valeria.
