Conclusion

I wanted a conclusion
A definitive end
I wanted a clean break
No more wounds to tend

I wanted a full stop
At the end of our sentence
Instead you placed a comma
With no intention of repentance

I wanted to turn a new page
Blank and new
But you stopped writing halfway
So I would never forget you

I tried to let the credits roll
But the video had froze
I tried to write the end of our song
But I could no longer compose

I tried to let the curtains fall
On our ridiculous show
Instead you walked off stage
Leaving an ending only you know

We ended at a cliffhanger
Our story not yet done
And no one will know the end
Of the story we had spun

So I'm left with the last line
The comma haunting me everyday
The last page of our story
Forever only written halfway
