Ruby's POV
I was dreading the fact that we were going to an amusement park. Nobody knows this, since we haven't ever gone to a amusement park together, but i... was afraid of roller coasters. And knowing my wild partner, she'll drag me on one without any hesitation.
I looked out the window, trying to hide my anxiety. When Crystal first announced the fact that we were going into one, I didn't really realize it at heart, so i just nodded. But now, it's reached me.
Of course, Sapphire would notice something wrong with me, too. "What'cha doin'? anythin' wrong?" She asked, tipping her head to one side. Praying that she wouldn't hear my furiously beating heart or notice alarm in my face, I turned to her side and tried to act casual. But, she isn't dumb, and she saw it in less than a second. "Yer afraid of heights, aren't ya, Prissy Boy?" She teased. I glared at her with a bit more anger in my eyes than i expected, and guilt instantly washed over me when she flinched back, slightly hurt. "I'm sorry." She whispered, looking away. "But it's true, isn't it?" I let out a sigh and responded, "Yes, yes, it's true. Don't tease me for it, okay? I'm sorry for being a bit harsh. I didn't mean to be upsetting." I stroked her hair gently, and she turned her head back in my direction and nodded slightly before leaning onto my shoulder. I looked forward, still feeling trapped inside, but it felt slightly better with my fearless barbarian leaning on me.
When we arrived, we got out of the car and walked towards the front of the amusement park, with me gripping Sapphire's hand tightly and her trying to break free. "Yer stoppin' my circulation!" she complained, and I reluctantly let go. Gold and Green had been watching us, and they were giggling at how protective i was. I looked up at the sign, and realized we were at Sky High, a famous amusement park known for roller coasters. (To be honest, I have no idea what that is~ -Author) Oh no, I thought. This just keeps getting worse and worse. I look up to see a roller coaster with about ten loops and three-story tall plunges.
I clenched my fists in an attempt to keep calm, and it worked well enough so that only Sapphire could see that i was scared, since she was the one who knew me the best. Phew. At least Gold couldn't sense my fear. He would tease me for the rest of my life, and that thought is even more horrifying. When i looked back down, they were already starting to walk into the front gate, so i hurried to catch up.
After doing all those checks and stuff, we started walking, examining our surroundings as we passed. A few times a kid would scream, "DEXHOLDERS!" and we would just wave and speed walk away as fast as we could. After about five minutes of walking, we arrived at a roller coaster and stopped there cause Green, Sapphire, Red, Pearl, Gold, and Crystal wanted to ride it. Well, that's what happened. Green dragged Blue on with her, and Gold dragged Silver on, too. "Cmon buddy!" He had scoffed. "Don't tell you're afraid, right?" Silver got mad, so he decided to go on the ride without holding the handles to prove he wasn't scared. But then, everyone was butting me to go on with them, too. In the end, all of us were going. I didn't want to, but everyone started teasing me for being scared, so i finally agreed, if i got to sit next to Sapphire. Before we got on, we put our hats or anything that could fall off into cubbies. As we loaded onto the roller coaster car, i was relieved that it was two to a row, so only she could sit next to me. She grinned at me as the workers were coming around to make sure our seat belts were tightly attached. After that was done, the car started moving. Oh no, i thought. Please don't let the golden-eyed boy two rows behind me hear my screams.
As we were climbing up the first plunge about three stories high, my heart was beating furiously and i was almost gasping for breath. I let go of one of my handles really quick so i could pull Sapphire's hand from her handle and i clutched it really hard, even harder than i did in the parking lot. She gave me an amused look just before we shot down the tracks, and before i could control myself, i let out a terrified scream. Sapphire was laughing happily, and her remaining hand wasn't on the handles anymore, as she was holding it up high while the other was still being suffocated by me. As we were swerving, i risked a glance behind my shoulder to see Gold practically crying while Silver sat next to him with his hands off the handles and an emotionless face. Phew. At lease, if Gold did notice how terrified i was, i could also yell at him on how he was crying. Just as i turned my head back, We went up a loop, and once again, i started shrieking while Sapphire was laughing, and watching her with her hair upside down and being blown by the wind matched with her grin was slightly comforting. Gold was sobbing in the back, while Red was holding Yellow's hand to comfort her. Crystal had her hands high in the air while Platinum, Diamond and Pearl were holding the handles normally. Blue has his arms crossed while Green was just as ecstatic as Sapphire was. My hair was a mess as we rode along with another two story plunge and four more loops.
By the end of the ride, the experience had scared the living daylights out of me, and i was mostly leaning on Sapphire as we retrieved our hats and exited the ride. Sapphire's hair was all tangled too, but she was so elated and i just didn't have the energy to comb it out, so we just met the rest of the dexholders by a random gift shop. Gold was literally on Silver, crying. I knew everyone else now could see how traumatized i am, but they didn't say anything, as Gold was the only one who teases me directly. As we moved on, i hoped that we weren't going to go on another horrifying roller coaster, but of course i knew that wasn't going to happen.
