"The fuck y'all want" I locked my apartment before turning to my sister and brother

"If you wouldn't have blocked us we wouldn't be here" Makenzie pointed out rolling her eyes

"Had me chasing you around that school like a fucking lost dog" Messiah chimed in

"It's been eight months since I've saw y'all so I'm guessing this is important"

"Pops getting out soon" Kenzie answered excitedly

"Oh my gosh daddy coming home" I sarcastically said "You wasted gas coming over here"

"Stop being fucking stubborn for once in ya life and just listen"

"How about you listen and get it threw your thick skull that I don't give a fuck about Marcus. He ain't no daddy of mines" I scoffed

"Siah I told you this was pointless" Makenzie got up but Messiah stayed seated

"It really was. See you at the next family function" I opened the door and Makenzie walked out

"Kenzie wait in the car while I conversate with our hard headed sister "

"Unblock me Monae" I made sure she safely got in her car before closing the door

"You can stay as long as you please but you need to gone before nine" I looked at my phone. Still no message from Jelani

Maybe I scared her off when I ruffed her up. I'm not a romantic person and don't know how to express my feelings the right way. Maybe I can get her a gun as an apology gift or a grill. Yeah those are good ideas I need to write them down

"Your hoes can wait this important" He spoke up "Pops need a place to stay and he can't stay with me because of my record"

"Kenzie apartment big enough"

"She only got a one bedroom and you know it"

"My other room is occupied at the moment" I lied

"By who?" He asked leaning up. Someone knocked on my door and a light bulb went off. Hopefully it's who i think it is or I'm fucked

"Thats her. Always leaving her keys" I got up answering the door and thank the Lord it was Jelani

"Is right now a bad time?" She asked looking over my shoulders

"Not at all. I need you to lie for me so follow along" I whispered the last part. She walked in and stood close to the door

"I thought you didn't know Monae" Messiah eyed Jelani down

"I'm partially deaf in my left ear and my hearing aid wasn't up high so I just said no" She pulled an actual hearing aid from her pocket

"How long have you known my sister" Messiah kicked his feet up on the coffee table

That's just rude

"Since tenth grade.We had chemistry together and sat next to each other" She answered quickly

"Why you living here?"

"My mama got tired of her sinning daughter. My grandparents live in Texas and I don't know my dad. Moe is nice enough to let me stay here until I get my own place" She fired back. This girl a wonderful liar. Not sure if that's good or not.

"You letting her reside here for free?" Siah questioned turning his attention on me now

"I work at the Target down the street" Jelani pretty much answered his question

"I was talking to my sister" Siah mugged the hell outta Jelani

"About me"

"What's your name smart ass"

"What's your name smart ass" She mocked Siah and I snickered

"Messiah" He answered

"I'm Jelani"

"I like you Jelani. Keep an eye on my sister for me ight" Siah as he left his seat

"Sure thing"

Siah dapped me up and patted Jelani on the head

"When I call you later I better be unblocked" He closed the door and I locked it behind him

"You got bigger balls than niggas with actual ones girl" I sat on the couch and Jelani remained near to the door like she's ready to escape or something

Signing I spoke up saying "I scared you didn't I"

"No but you did bruise my wrist" She held it up. I didn't think I was grabbing it hard enough to leave a mark

"I apoligiazeeee for that" I struggled to get it out . I hate apologizing it's like a bad drug that wants you to sniff it

"What was that? I didn't hear you"

"I said I apologize for your wrist" I spoke louder and clearer

"Apology accepted I guess but umm why you asked me to come over?" She finally sat down but still far away from me

"I'm going to be upfront because I'm not a pussy. I'm feelin you" Her eyes got wide enough to roll out "You make me feel tingly inside and I ain't never felt that shit before"

"I like you too but..." She trailed off

"What?" I asked eager to know. She better not have a girlfriend on the low. Not that I'll care I'll beat her girlfriend up and take Jelani from her. Simple

"I dont know nothing about you"

"Me neither" I told her

"My curfew isn't until twelve so get to talking" She instructed me as she positioned herself Indian style

"I'm Monae but ya know it's Moe in the streets and to everyone else" This may just take all night fucking with me
