•Jelani POV•

"Lani can you come downstairs" Mama poked her head in my door

"Who down there Santa Claus?" I joked and she slightly chuckled

"No you big baby but hurry up"

Getting out of bed I put on a nearby sweater since it's kinda cold. I heard two voices the closer I got downstairs.

"Hey Lani"

I simply waved to Eric and ignored the other male. I got myself a bottle of water as I got followed.

"I don't get a hey?"

I looked at Russel with a stank look "I don't speak to phony people like you"

"Hey, you come here" My mom waved me over to the hallway. I slouchy walked to her already knowing what she's going to say "Stop being mean Lani. What happened to Brussels Sprout and Lanipop?"

"He changed on me. Not the other way around"

"He's your brother who made a mistake. Are you going to hold him at fault forever?"

"Of course not I miss us being friends but I'm not going to kiss his butt" I shook my head "Not going to happen"

"I'm not going to force you but think about it"

While grabbing an armful of snacks Russel appeared "Can you stop being a brat and talk to me" He fussed

"I'm only doing this for my mom sake"

When we reached my room I sat at my desk and gave him the floor to speak

"First off I want to apologize for trading you and Briel for Tyson and Gregg. They aren't good people and it took me a long time to realize that"

"I don't know how. They've been bullies since elementary. Hell you used to be one of their targets"

"Don't tell me something I already know. I couldn't come running back to you and Bri. They were alright for the most part so I stuck with them"

"But you could have. It's been numerous times when Bri and I didn't talk for weeks and we always came back like nothing happened"

"Again I'm sorry cutting y'all off. I'm done with Tyson and Gregg for good I swear. I don't want to be viewed as a follower or bully"

"Took you long enough to open your eyes" I mushed him playfully

"So we cool now?" He held his hand out

"Yeah we good" I shook his hand and let it go after a while

"Russell we leaving" Eric yelled from downstairs

"I'll see you tomorrow sis" He joked leaving the room. I got my blanket about to take a nap when my phone rung

Briel 🥰🤞🏼: Shaddow Woods

: The hell you doing at Shaddow Woods

Brief 🥰🤞🏼: I'll explain when you get here. Please hurry Lani

: That's like an hour drive but I'll be there in thirty if I only take the streets

She hung up and wouldn't answer when I called her back. I'm not trying to think of the worse right now but she's scaring me.

"Mama can I use your car" I looked around not seeing her. I got the keys and sent her a text telling her I got the car

"BRIELLLL" I yelled. I texted and called Bri numerous times and she still hasn't responded

"Stop playing Bri you scaring me" I walked further into the woods when something crumpled under my feet. As I lifted my feet several roses could be seen. I followed them until it wasn't anymore left.

"I don't know what creepy person has my friend but please I'm begging you to take her instead of me"

A tall figure appeared and to say she looks fine is an understatement

"What're you doing in the woods Monae!? Are you crazy"

She held a finger to my lips putting my rant on pause "I like the smell of your hair. I hated vanilla with a passion until I smelled it in your hair. Your voice is soothing like a lullaby and you have the laugh of a hyena. The way your hand fits perfectly with mines amazes me. You're confident and determined about everything that life throws at you. And most importantly I love everything about you"

"Who knew you could be so poetic" I let out a chuckle while wiping under my eye

"Will you be my girlfriend Jelani Sanchez?"

I jumped onto her wrapping my legs around her waist "Of course I will!"
I kissed her passionately. Loud claps made me pull away. My family and friends came out

"I told you it would work" Bri told Angel. I jumped down wiping the rest of the tears away

"Kiss again I didn't get that part" Mama put her camera all up in our face. I gave Moe a peck on the lips so she could capture the moment

"Sooo Monae how long do I have to wait until you ask propose?"

"Mama"

"Four years" Moe answered making me blush

"I get to be the maid of honor bitches" Bri cheered receiving a pop on the mouth

Watch your mouth, Briel"

"Sorry mama" She rubbed her head

"This is cute but umm it's about to rain" Russ pointed to the cloudy sky. We all walked to our cars and drove home

•Moe POV•

"Uno," Ms.Yessica said placing the yellow seven on the deck

"Draw four" Jelani slammed the card down

"You a hater and don't wanna see me shine"

"It's a game mama" Jelani pointed out but Ms. Yessica wasn't having it. She was already ready to leave

"I have to be up early anyway. Goodnight daughter in law" She kissed my head "Night brat"

"Over a game" She fanned Jelani off as she walked up the stairs

"Since she going to bed we can gave some fun"

"I'm not sleep yet nasty" Ms.Yessica walked past us going into the kitchen retrieving a cup of water

"I was talking about watching a Rated R film ma"

"Just keep it down please" She kissed Jelani on the cheek. We waited until we heard her door close to go to Jelani room

"Have you ever watched Fifty Shades of Grey"

"Oh, we actually watching a movie? I thought it was a cover-up"

"Maybe tomorrow. I want to watch the new one"

"If it's some freaky white people shit like Siah said we cutting it off"

"It's a good movie I swear"

Halfway into the movie, I noticed she hasn't said anything about the explicit sex scenes. Looking down she was peacefully sleeping "Oh but you wanted to watch the movie" I shook my head and continued watching the film.
