From being a commander for the Empire to traveling with Drake, everything I have witnessed follows a simple rule of mine. A rule that everything this world sadly follows, and t whoever reads this remember it well because it is not a rule that can be broken or forgotten, nor is there a loophole that can be found. A simple six worded law of the world: There is no innocence with power.
Yes I know it sounds quite weird when you first hear it, but just look around you for a second, who do you know that can be deemed to being innocent? Children? Of course, Children are innocent they have others to protect them from the world, however, they must have the power to protect them. How would they know to protect these children? They themselves must know of the darkness in the world, and once you know of all that evil you lose your innocence.
Why do you build up power, the power of money, fear, strength, anything? To protect others? Or maybe to protect yourself? Once one loses their innocence they realize they are surrounded by darkness, when they realize this they try to find a light for themselves and others.
Drake stood with his backpack over his shoulders as he watched the ex-commander, Grayson sat in front of the river with a pen and paper writing something. He was curious, but he wasn't one to intrude into anyone's privacy, so be stood back a bit and called out to the blond "Grayson! We should get going!" Grayson turned and looked up at the mage.
"Just give me a few minutes!" he calls back.
With no innocence to keep them from the darkness of this world, some either turn from it and try to find their own power or light to protect themselves with. Others, on the other hand, find a liking to the darkness and learn to use it to others, and in some cases, they are around darkness so much they start to get used to it.
Sliding his bag over his shoulders Grayson turns to make his way back up the stones of the river's bay, he is quick to step on a loose stone, however. With the rapids of the river in mind, Grayson braced himself to fall into the water, the water of which could easily kill him.
Of all of this, this is the one thing you must remember if you ever find yourself without you innocence or a founded power to protect yourself from the enclosing darkness. Or find yourself becoming acclimated to the Darkness Find someone who cares for you, a true friend, who always has your back.
Before Grayson fell into the rushing water he heard the noise of teleporting he then felt Drake grab his arm and teleport again. "Now I know you don't hate water as much as I, but I don't think you want to be going swimming in that river." Drake says letting go to his friend's arm. Grayson sighs in relief and puts a hand on the mage's shoulder, he thanks Drake and took out his compass. After getting a sense of where they needed to go they set off walking side by side ready for whatever the day had for themFind someone like that and they will remind you how nice the light is, how nice it is to have the power to stay safe. But always keep in mind to have their back too, because of those who always keep you from falling apart tend to be torn to pieces themselves.
