That Time Grayson Killed A Vampire

           As the sunset, Grayson held his compass tightly in his hand with a map laid out in front of him, Mia sat next to him looking down at his map. Drake appeared from the forest and Mia was quickly up to help him with the logs he was carrying, Grayson looked up to see his two friends putting the last logs in place. When Drake placed his hand hovering over the pile of wood Mia looked with childlike amazement at the mage's magic as it set the logs on fire. "You're so cool!" Mia told Drake like every other time he used his magic. Drake always smiled back at her and said it was nothing special but Grayson had to agree with Mia sometimes Drake's magic was quite amazing.

          Something in the corner of his eye catches his attention and Grayson looks over and swears he sees something move between the trees. "Drake are you okay?" Grayson turns to see Drake holding his head looking the same way he was.

           "Just a headache, " he answered bringing his hands back to his sides but still he kept his eyes sternly on the forest. Grayson grabs a bottle of water and walks over to Drake.

           "Did you also see something move in the forest over there?" Grayson asks as he handed the bottle to Drake. He nods before drinking half of the water "Any idea what it could have been?" Grayson questions as Drake put the cover back on the bottle of water.

             "I don't know but it had an odd life force, to say the least, " Drake answers. The mage's answer gave Grayson an uneasy feeling Mia even seemed a bit frightened at this point.

               For the rest of the night, there was no sign of whatever that thing Grayson and Drake saw, and in the morning they continued on their way to the next town on their map. To the group's displeasure, the town was unreachable in one day so they ended up only making it halfway before the sun began to set again. They set up a small camping area again in the forest next to the path they had been walking. "We're low on water I'm going to do get some, " Mia announced to her two friends.

       As she left towards the sound of running water Drake and Grayson were busy getting wood for a fire, which was proving to be quite difficult as it had just rained that day and all the wood was still damp. After a bit of navigating through a thinker part of the forest, Mia smiled happily as she reached a creek. She knelt down next to the gently running water and filled one of her bottles she then held it up to the last bit of sunlight to find the water surprisingly clean.

       Mia froze as she heard footsteps, she put the cover on the filled bottle and placed it in her bag and in one quick movement she grabbed her sword next to her bag. She swung it as she spun around, a man was standing a few feet away from her and as she saw him he smiled. He had inhuman teeth that seemed more like fangs than anything, Mia than noticed his blood red eyes. Leaving her bag behind she ran back towards the camp the second she reached the area both Drake and Grayson had their swords in hand

        "What's wrong?" Grayson is the first to ask. It took Mia a few seconds to find the words to explain what was going on but she found the only ones that fitted.

     "There's a vampire, " Mia tried to explain but Grayson quickly looked over at Drake who shook his head.

      "Even to mages, Mia vampires are still just story characters, " Drake responded. But when the so-called vampire jumped out of the forest at him he had second thoughts when it then bit his neck. Drake quickly teleported and covered the bite mark with his hand, as he teleported the vampire fell to the ground and spit out his blood out.

         "Well, there's your vampire! Now how do you kill it!?" Mia asks Drake.

          "How am I supposed to know?" he tells her back.

           "Your the mage do something!" Mia told him back as Grayson simply watched them argue

            "What am I supposed to do I just learned they exist, you found it you kill it, " Drake responds back to Mia as the Vampire jumped at Grayson. Grayson moved out of the way and with that he had, had enough of Mia and Drake's arguing.

               Grayson took his sword and shoved it straight through the heart of the creature which automatically fell to the ground. Both Mia and Drake stop arguing and stare at Grayson with a new found fear of him "We've seen demons and living plant I draw a line at a vampire, "
