Drake's familiar

/I didn't know what familiar that Drake would have so i took a quiz thing online and answered how i would think Drake would. So if you don't like the choice of familiar blame the website./

Drake sat in his study trying to do a spell while Mia and Grayson were out getting fire wood. He accidentally does something wrong making spell horribly back fire. As he was almost sure it was going to explode an bird like creature appears in front of him. The spell gets instantly canceled out, and what Drake could only imagine to be an phoenix turns to face him. "Hello.' Drake hears the phoenixes voice in his head. "Great i have another thing's voice in my head." Drake complains. "This is how all mage"s familiars talk to them, its the only way we can talk." The phoenix explains. "your my familiar?" Drake asks. "Yes." Drake's familiar answers. It looks towards the door sensing two life forces approaching. "An elf and a human are coming." The phoenix announces. "I know its Grayson and Mia." Drake says turning to clean up the things from the spell he attempted. "Are they a threat?" his familiar questions. "No and if you attack them ill find a way to kill you permanently." Drake then walks out side with his so called familiar. "What in the world is that thing?" Grayson asks spotting the fire bird. "Its apparently my familiar." Drake says back. "Your familiar?" Mia questions as they walk into Drake's house and set down the fire wood they got. "Don't ask me he just appeared." Drake answers. "I only appeared because you almost killed yourself." The phoenix explains. "And that too." Drake says in return. "and what?" Grayson questions. "And you cant hear him, great" Drake says wanting to hit his head on something. "He is talking to you?" Mia asks. "Yes, and he said they only reason he came was because i almost killed my self." Drake explains. "How did you almost kill your self." Grayson asks dropping everything he was doing and faces the mage, "MY spell went wrong and it almost exploded." Drake says back. "Are you alright?" Mia questions. "yes i don't know how but he stopped it from happening." drake answers back. From then on Drake now had and phoenix following him around, and with his help Drake became an even stronger mage.
