--POV = Logan--

As I gazed at the oddly familiar form lying beneath to the corrupted gem, I tried to figure out what on earth it could be. It had paleish skin with dark red hair. His hooded sweater was light grey and a black strap was slung around his chest. There were red lines going across the front and a pocket in the lower middle. Silver eyeshadow coated the eyelid. I scanned his body looking for his gem: then I realized there were two. One was an oval shape and placed on the chest and the other was a circle on the wrist. Both were cloudy-clear and a dark sand color. Then it hit me.

Roman and Virgil fused!

I heard a painful moan from my arms and glanced down to see Patton stirring, his eyes still glazed with pain. He looked at me with a light smile. In a puff of smoke, he disappeared, leaving me staring at an aqua-blue gem. I gritted my teeth at tears filled my eyes. Suddenly, Remy leaped up in a blur of fur and grabbed Patton's gem in his teeth. He sat down with it, gazing up at me. His eyes seemed to speak.

I'll look after him.

I hesitated before nodding and glancing back at the fusion.

I decided to join the two's names together: Roman and Virgil... Rogil?

As Rogil stared in shock up at the corrupted gem, it's foot slammed down on him. The fusion threw his arms over his head in defense, just as his face disappeared under the beast's foot. It gave a yelp, as if it had been stung, before stumbling back clumsily. A shield of black fire coated Rogil's arms, flickering before disappearing. My mind whirred. Dark fire! Rogil stared up at the corrupt. It stared back in rage before leaping forward in another attack. Quick as a dart, I reacted, soaring forward and summoning a Samurai Sword. I aimed for the gem, but it jerked out the way, slamming my side with its tail. I fell to the ground, pain pulsing through me. My vision was blurred and I felt tempted to sink deep inside my gem, where the cosy crystal walls are pleasantly warm and healing...

I snapped my eyes open, gritting my teeth against the pain. I must keep fighting! I glanced up, my every move sending waves of pain rippling through me. The large figure of Rogil stood over me, holding a magnificent violet bow in one hand and drawing the slender string with the other. As I stared on in astonishment, a black arrow appeared from thin air, locking perfectly around the fusion's fingers. There was a pause that seemed to last a lifetime.

Then, with a pang, the arrow was let loose and it soared through the air. When it got halfway to the corrupt it split in two, and they twisted around each other like a elegant dark birds. Then, with a slam, they hit the corrupt, landing perfectly on the gem. It glanced up. Sudden silence. Then... poof.

A rosy pink gem lay on the floor where the beast had stood.

I sat up and crawled over, gazing in wonder that the gem. A rose quartz! I hadn't seen a gem like this in a long time. I grasped it in my hands. A redish pink bubble came over it. I tapped the top with the tips of my fingers and it shot upwards, disappearing into thin air. I glanced at Rogil. He smiled back. Then he frowned, and in a flash of light, changed back into two people. Virgil was staring in horror at Roman. Roman looked back in wonder. All of a sudden, Virgil turned tail and ran, back in the direction of the house.
