Chapter 13: Darkness Ends

Everyone else had been marked, except for Emma and Lya, to switch places with the Dark Ones. Knowing they wouldn't make it out this situation everyone stopped looking for away to stop Hook. Lya spent the next few hours help Freya call the family explain the situation when she her amulet began to glow. Suddenly the light over came the room and when it faded she was left all alone.

Getting to her feet, she ran out of the room and down the stairs to diner below. The place was empty expect for Snow and Charming's son, Neal, who had started to whimper. Moving forward she picked up the baby to hush him.

"Come on, kiddo" she whispered "Let's get you somewhere safe and them I find you mom and dad."

After dropping Neal off with the Fairies, it took Lya a while to find the others. They where down in the park with Hook and the all the Dark Ones. Nimue was ironically choking Emma with one hand out as if she was using the force and Hook had turned to first Dark One.

"That's enough" he told Nimue.

"What do you think your doing" Nimue asked the pirate.

"Being the man I want to be" Hook told her.

"You can't stop us" Nimue stated.

"Yes I can" He told her as he caught a glimpse of his daughter behind the Dark Ones watching the event unfold. He held up Excalibur and the sword began pulling the darkness out of the Dark Ones.

"Killian, you can't do this" Emma said.

"We both know there's no other way, love" Killian said turning to face her. "We have to hurry. The darkness won't stay trapped in Excalibur much longer. Take it."

"No" Emma said refusing to take the sword.

"You have to help me, Swan" Hook told her. "Take it."

"I can't" She said "It should be me"

"Your family needs you" Hook told her "If anyone deserves to go to the Underworld, it's me. You were right. I was weak, so let me make up for it now by being strong."

"I don't want to lose you" Emma told him. "I don't want Lya to lose you."

"And I don't want to lose either of you" he stated. "But you have to let me go, let me die a hero. That's the man I want you to remember, want her to remember. Please."

Emma moved forward and took Excalibur from him before kissing him won last time. Lya really didn't comprehend much after she saw Emma run the sword through him. She didn't see the her father and Emma return to their former selves. She didn't see Excalibur turn to dust. It wasn't till Freya grabbed her that she even realized she was crying.

"Your going to be okay" Freya whispered running a hand through her niece's hair. "It's going to be okay."
