chapter ten

When they got inside, Peter pushed passed Tony and went straight for his room. "Peter, wait we need to talk." He kept walking, ignoring his dads. "Peter!"

"I don't want to fucking talk!" Steve took a step back in disbelief. Peter would never use language like that. Once he was out of sight, they heard his door slam shut. "Steve! What the hell happened?"

"He...he got beat up by some kid at school."

"What! Someone hurt my little boy? But why?" Steve gave Tony the look. "They called him gay, Tony. The school said if we don't settle this now, they'll kick him out!"

"This is exactly what I was afraid of. Goddamnit, Peter. Why couldn't you just listen!"

Meanwhile, Peter sat in his room, sobbing into his hands. He just watched, Peter thought. He didn't do anything, he just watched. How could he? I thought he loved me?

All of Peter's emotions were raging inside of him, making him want to explode. He wanted to run away from school, from Wade, and from his dads. No one really loved him, no one really cared.

Soon after Tony and Steve came bursting into his room. "I said I don't wanna talk," he reminded them. "Listen, Pete. We know things are hard for you right now, but you gotta stay strong. The school is threatening to kick you out."

Peter's eyes overflowed with tears. "Great, first my fucking boyfriend leaves me and now this?" Peter's heart sank once he realized what he had said. "Did you just say boyfriend, young man?" Peter buried his face in his hands.

Tony raised his voice. "Peter, you know why you can't do that! Look what's happening now! I'm so disappointed in you." The anger began to turn inside Peter. "IT'S NOT FAIR! YOU AND POPS CAN BE TOGETHER, BUT WADE AND I CAN'T?" Peter got up and pushed passed them. "Pete, wait. We're sorry."

"You're the worst dads ever," he said softly.
