Peter tried his best to ignore Wade at school. It tore the ten year olds heart in two, but he knew he had no other choice. Wade had asked him to come over and play many times, but Peter's answer was always the same. "I can't. I'm sorry."

Tony and Peter hated seeing their son like this, but there was no other way. They only wanted to protect him. Over the course of a few weeks, they noticed a change in Peter. He stopped having Ned over, he wouldn't talk to Steve on their walk home, and he would constantly hide in his room. The poor boy felt ashamed of himself. He hated the fact that he had to hide who he really was from the world.

Tony and Steve noticed this. "Tony, a ten year old shouldn't have to feel this way. What do we do?"

"I really don't know. I'm afraid there's nothing we can do, but be there for him." They made their way down to Peter's room and sat on his bed. Peter didn't look at them, and continued blankly staring out the window.

"Pete, we know this is difficult and unfair, but Dad and I are here for you, okay? It's all gonna work out, I promise." Peter flung himself onto Steve and began sobbing onto his chest. "I'm a h-horrible person c-cause I l-like Wade."

"No, no, no, Peter don't say that. You could never be a horrible person. You're the best son anyone could ask for. I'm so sorry you have to go through this."

Peter continued to sob into Steve's shirt.
