Peter was unable to attend Wade's funeral, to avoid the suspicion that they were together. Luke and his friends were locked away for what they did to Wade so Peter's secret was still safe, for now.
He became depressed and isolated himself from everyone at school. Tony and Steve did their best to make their son happy, but nothing could bring Wade back. Peter feared he'd never find love again.
They all hoped they'd live to see a day when the world would change for the better.
