finns pov

as i was working at my desk i hear a knock at the front door which makes me look away from my laptop. i furrow my brows and look at my watch which reads 9:00 pm.

"who comes over at nine?" i walk out of the room and straight to the door. i look through the peep hole and see my father standing there looking to the side.

i squint my eyes but open the door anyways. "dad?" i ask leaning on the door. "what are you doing here?" i step outside not wanting to be loud since millie is sleeping.

he exhales and runs a hand through his hair. "never thought it would come this soon but..you've got your first real mission" he hands me an envelope with red prints on them. anxiety builds up inside me. "but i-i'm not ready-" i ramble but he cuts me off.

"finn. it's been a couple months since training. you're ready. everything you need is inside" he softly smiles them waves and begins to walk off. i exhale and rub my forehead.

my alarm goes off. 4:00 am. my stomach churns at the fact that i could be dead if i screw one thing up in an instant. millie shifts beside me and causes me to cringe trying not to wake her. i let out a breath and stand up walking to my closet. i pick out some black pants, with a white long sleeve button up. "finn?" i hear behind me which makes me freeze. i finish buttoning my shirt and turn around nervously laughing.

"what are you doing?" she asks still half asleep wiping her eyes. i exhale and slowly walk over to the bed and sit down in front of her. "i uh..have my first mission today" i say chuckling playing with a loose string on the blanket that was previously covering millie.

"what? that soon?" she asks fully away sitting up next to me. "i-i don't know why to be honest..it's just my dad came last night and told me i had one today" i try not to sweat through the shirt but my heart is racing.

she looks off at the ground and slowly gets up but then speed walking to the closet. i furrow my brows and follow her. "what are you doing?" i ask leaning on the door frame. "i'm coming with you obviously" she says rolling her eyes. "what? millie i'm not going to let you come with me!" i say putting the clothes back up.

"look finn, this is your first mission. i at least have to be in the car waiting..so please" she says looking at me giving me puppy eyes. i roll my eyes and finally agree which makes her smile.

"hurry up though..i've got to be there at five" i say packing a hand gun in my bag.

i sit on the sofa downstairs on my phone til i see millie walk down. she's wearing black ripped jeans with one of my ban t shirts tucked in and some checkered vans. we both sit on the sofa discussing no important things until we hear a honk outside our home.

i look through the window and see a black mercedes waiting for us. i sigh and grab her hand walking out of the house and into the car.

as we drive to the destination millie stirs up a conversation. "what is the mission about?" she asks staring into my eyes in the darkness. "these people want me to kill this guy who ran over their dog" i say looking out the window. "well did he apologize?" she says playing with a ring on her finger.
"from what they've said he just kept on driving" i say taking her hand and looking at the ring. she nods her head and leans it on my shoulder.

fifteen minutes go by and we enter a business building parking lot. it's empty only for one car which is probably his. i let out a shaky breath and grab my hand gun and exit the car. "wait!" millie calls running up to me. i give her a confused look until she engulfs me in a hug. i don't do the same until a couple seconds after.

"good luck okay" she says resting her hands on my chest. i exhale softly and nod my head looking at the ground. she walks back to the car flashing me a smile before the car goes behind the building.

i turn the gun to safety off and enter the big building hearing not a noise anywhere. i remember from the envelope that he should be on level four at his desk working. i go into the elevator and wait for it to get to my desired floor.

i keep my head and body low while holding the gun close to my chest. i come around a corner and see him sitting at his desk working on a computer and writing things in a notebook.

i slowly walk behind him and hold my gun up but unexpectedly he turns around and kicks the gun from my hand. he kicks me to the floor and tries to pin my hands down i kick him in the gut which makes me fall to the side groaning.

i try to get up and get the gun but he kicks it with his foot even further. i sigh and guess i have to use my resources. i stand up and punch him in the nose making him stumble back holding it. he looks at me and just wipes it on his sleeve then pushing me into the wall.

i think of something which is just going to hurt me as much as it will hurt him. i head butt him making him fall to the ground as i get a little dizzy. i stumble over to the other side of the small room and grab the gun. i take no hesitation and pull the trigger putting him out of his misery.

i'm breathing heavily with my hands on my knees trying to catch my breath. i see blood all over my shirt from his nose. "why did i even wear white" i mumble to myself then exit the building.

the car pulls back up once they see me walking towards the parking lot. millie jumps out as soon the car stops and runs over to me.

"holy shit are you okay?!" she says cupping my face and looking at my bruises. "yeah- i'm fine mills" i say softly laughing. she shakes her head laughing pulling me into a tight hug. "you scared me when you walked out here" she says laughing which hugging me tighter. i wrap my hands around her small waist nuzzling my head into her neck closing my eyes.

"alright love birds get in the car" the driver calls while honking at us. we both laugh and go back into the car hand in hand.
