Taehyung can't sleep that night and Jungkook refuses to sleep until Taehyung does.
Taehyung wonders how the letters could have been sent.
Did his dad find them and send them? If so, how did he know where to send them?
The thought of his dad knowing makes Taehyung's stomach turn.
Taehyung doesn't know how to react to Jungkook revealing this, after years of pushing it to the back of his mind he had almost, almost, stopped thinking about that night.
Now everything is resurfacing all at once and trying to knock down the walls he built.
Taehyung tries to will himself to sleep for Jungkook's sake and eventually he does, but the other doesn't sleep.
He watches over Taehyung until the sun starts the brighten the room.
He gets up careful not to wake him and starts getting ready for work.
He'd be gone before Taehyung woke up and he hated that. He wished they could be together all the time.
He never wants to leave him alone again, not after what he found out yesterday.
Jungkook's eyes burn from lack of sleep as he leaves the apartment locking the door behind him.
He hopes he'll get through work okay feeling this tired.
Jungkook sighs as his phone rings and the number from the stock brokerage pops up.
He clears his throat and puts on the best cheerful voice he could manage at the moment. "Hello?"
"Good morning, is this Jungkook?" The female voice carries over the phone.
"Yes ma'am it is, how are you today?" Jungkook says.
"I'm well. I'm making this phone call on behalf of Mr. Lee he's the head of our brokerage and he wanted me to know that he will be sending you to Seoul in two weeks, all expenses paid, that includes two plane tickets, and since you won't have time to work during the course so is the first two months of your rent. Did I make everything clear?"
Jungkook stops in his tracks. "Two weeks?"
"Yes sir. Would you like to arrange for a longer period of time?"
"No. No that's fine. Thank you so, so much. Please tell Mr. Lee that I am extremely thankful." Jungkook says genuinely from the bottom of his heart.
"I will. Have a nice day. See you in two weeks."
The call ends and Jungkook actually smiles as he continues walking to the metro station.
This was literally too good to be true.
He's been taught how to handle stocks and bonds since he was a little kid and now he's found a job where he could use that skill without a college degree.
Jungkook almost wants to call Taehyung but he doesn't want to wake him up after a long night last night.
He'll just have to wait until he gets off to share the good news.
~
Jungkook jogs up the stairs to their apartment quickly after work, he could hardly wait to tell Taehyung.
In his hands were a bouquet of half a dozen purple roses, the shop that he usually buys them from gave them to him free when he shared the good news.
"Tae?" He calls when he gets into the apartment. He quickly sets the roses down and goes to the room.
When he walks in he's greeted with the sight of Taehyung lying in bed with the small trashcan from the bathroom pulled up beside him.
"Taehyung? Baby?" Jungkook says rushing to his side.
Taehyung's eyes flutter open sleepily when he hears Jungkook.
"Are you sick, baby?" Jungkook asks brushing the other's hair from his face.
Taehyung sighs rolling over so his back is to Jungkook.
"What's wrong, Tae?" Jungkook frowns, no answer. "Taehyung?"
Still no answer.
Jungkook stands looking down at Taehyung who stares at the wall on the other side of the room.
Jungkook sighs when he sees the letters sitting on the bedside table.
He doesn't say anything as he gathers the letters and leaves the room.
He puts the letters away somewhere Taehyung won't find them before dialing Hoseok.
Hobi was the only one that didn't have a letter in the pile so he figured he knew already.
"Hey Jungkook." Someone answers, Jungkook's guessing it's Taeil.
"Hey Taeil. Can I talk to Hobi? Tell him it's serious." Jungkook responds going to the door and stepping outside.
"Hey Kook, what's up?" Hoseok answers.
"Something's wrong Hobi." He responds.
"What?"
"Taehyung. I found something out last night." Jungkook answers.
"What Jungkook?" Hoseok asks again.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Jungkook asks feeling himself start to choke up a little.
"Tell you what, Kook?" Hoseok asks.
"You know what Hoseok. Why didn't you tell me Taehyung what happened to him that night?" Jungkook asks as a mixture of different emotions course through him.
Hoseok falls silent on the other line for a moment. "H-How'd you~"
"The fucking letters. Someone sent the letters to the apartment. And now something's wrong with Taehyung." Jungkook says.
"Calm down, Jungkook."
"Calm down? Hoseok. Are you serious?" Jungkook asks trying to keep his voice down.
"There's a reason I couldn't tell you." The other responds.
"What?"
"Taehyung thought you wouldn't believe him. Because of his reputation or whatever." Hoseok explains. "Don't think I just kept it from you because I wanted to."
"I don't know what to do Hobi." Jungkook says as a tear slips down his face.
"Just give him some time, okay?"
Jungkook nods wiping his face. "Okay. I've gotta go now."
"Okay. Call anytime Kook." Hoseok says.
Jungkook hangs up the phone going back into the apartment and into the bedroom.
He finds Taehyung bent over the toilet puking and he rushes over, patting his back to try to soothe him as he gags repeatedly.
Tears fall from Taehyung's eyes but Jungkook isn't sure if it's from vomiting or crying.
"Are you okay?" He asks, Taehyung doesn't respond as he coughs a few more times and flushes the toilet.
He stands on his own with out the help of Jungkook before rinsing his mouth out in the sink.
Jungkook doesn't ask again as he stands and watches him walk out and get back in bed.
What's going on with him?
