It's been a week and Taehyung hasn't spoken a word to Jungkook or even gotten out of bed. After the first day he hadn't really gotten sick after that and Jungkook hasn't seen him eat anything and that was really worrying him.
"I'll be back in a little while, please promise that you'll try and eat something while I'm gone. Or drink something maybe?" Jungkook says to Taehyung's back from the doorway.
The other doesn't respond, as expected.
"I love you." Jungkook says walking over and placing a gentle kiss to his fiancé's cheek.
Taehyung moves away from the kiss and it breaks Jungkook's heart a little but he doesn't dwell on it.
Jungkook walks out front where he's started to pack his and Taehyung's things for the move the week after next.
He had explained to Taehyung about the call he got and that they would be going to Seoul in two weeks time but of course he didn't get a reply.
On the way to work Jungkook can't take his mind off of Taehyung and what it is he's going through.
He wanted to take him to the doctor and get him checked out but they couldn't possibly afford it, not with only Jungkook's input this month, he needed it to pay the last of the rent.
Jungkook decides that it's time to make a much needed call to his hyung to see what he should do.
As expected Jin answers on the second ring.
"Hey, Kook! How are you? I wasn't expecting a call from you." He says enthusiastically.
"Hey hyung." Jungkook responds smiling a little when he hears his hyung's voice. "I'm good. How're you?"
"I'm great. What's up?"
Jungkook sighs, he hated piling his problems on other people. "It's Taehyung."
"What's wrong?" Jim asks, worry filling his tone.
"Well, last week some letters were sent to our apartment and they said something about what happened to Taehyung when we were still in high school." Jungkook tried to explain with being direct.
"Oh." Jin says understanding right away. "Y-You mean~"
"Yes." Jungkook says checking the time as he walks faster in order to not be late.
"I'm sorry." Jin says. "What happened to Tae was terrible~"
"I'm sorry hyung but I really don't want to talk about it." The younger says trying not to be rude. "It's just. Tae's been acting strange and I don't know what to do."
"Strange how?"
"He won't get out of bed for anything. I haven't seen him eat or drink anything. He just lays there and ignores me when I try to get him up. I'm really scared hyung. What am I supposed to do?" Jungkook asks walking into the metro station and finding his train.
"Hm." Jin hums, Jungkook knows that hum, it means he had no clue what to do. "Well, has he cried at all after he saw those letters?"
"No. Not that I know of."
"Has he looked like he's been crying?"
"What are you getting at hyung?" Jungkook asks swiping his metro card and getting rushing to catch his train.
"What I'm saying is that maybe he just needs to cry." Jin says. "Let him get it all out. Because it sounds to me that he's just trying to hold himself together by holding it in. Let him breakdown and let him have a few days to cry if he needs to. But he needs to let it out. Okay?"
"What if that makes it worse?" Jungkook asks.
"If it does, maybe consider some professional help. Like therapy." Jin says. " But he should be fine. You know Taehyung's strong, he'll get through this."
"Okay. Thanks hyung. I'll try." The younger promises.
"Okay. Call me if you need me."
"Okay. Bye hyung."
Jungkook ends the call stepping onto his train to work and taking a seat.
He hated leaving Taehyung but he knew he'd be okay.
Taehyung was strong, the strongest person Jungkook knew.
He'd get through this.
He had to.
-
When Jungkook gets off he goes home right away, not wanting to waste anytime getting to Taehyung.
As expected the other still lies in bed, his hair greasy and matted from lying there for so long.
Jungkook sighs stepping in the room and kneeling on the edge of the bed.
"Tae baby?" He says gently laying a hand on his shoulder. "Come on Tae. Sit up for me baby."
Taehyung closes his eyes tighter and turns away more.
"Come on Tae. You gotta get up." Jungkook says making Taehyung sit up a little more forcefully.
Taehyung fights against him, his body is weak from not eating for days.
Jungkook successfully pulls Taehyung into a sitting position and pulls him into his arms resting his head against his chest.
"There we go. There we go Tae." Jungkook hums slightly rocking him. "I know it's hard, I know it hurts. It's okay that it hurts."
Taehyung lays lifelessly against Jungkook.
"Tae. I can't change the past. And I can't take away the pain. But no matter what happened then, I'll always love you. And nothing is going to change that. Just please Tae. Don't let the past take you away from me. Don't leave me." Jungkook says brushing the pale boy's hair down. "I can't lose you like this."
Jungkook squeezes Taehyung, desperately trying to get some kind of reaction out of him.
"Don't let him take you away from me." He whispers.
Taehyung releases a small breathy sound that almost sounds like a sob.
"Just let it out." Jungkook says holding Taehyung as close as possible.
Taehyung lets out a strained sob and grips the front of Jungkook's shirt.
"It's okay." He reassures him tenderly running his hand over his hair.
After the first few forced sobs it seems that the dam is released and the rest come easily.
Jungkook even sheds a few tears at the pitiful sobs coming from the man he loves.
Taehyung tries to push Jungkook away numerous times as each body racking sob leaves his mouth.
"It's okay baby. I'm here. I'm here." He reassures him. " Let it out."
Taehyung cries for an hour against Jungkook, completely soaking his work shirt but neither of them care.
After a while though Taehyung ends up crying himself to sleep, but even then Jungkook continues to rock him and pat his back gently.
After another hour or so Jungkook carefully lays Taehyung down and goes to change his clothes.
After changing he sits back down and watches over Taehyung while he sleeps.
Taehyung sniffles every now and then and small cries leave his lips as he sleeps.
"It's okay, baby. I got you. I'm here."
