Hayden's P.O.V:

I walked away. AGAIN. Do I go back? I'm not going to sleep anytime soon. Holly is still away touring colleges as far as I know, mom and dad are currently in a business meeting, all the way in Europe... Great, I have absolutely no excuse that prevents me from turning back.

I sigh heavily, waiting for something unexpected to happen. When nothing does, I jog down the street and stand on her front door. It takes every bit of muscle in my arm but I manage to knock on the door. Why am I that nervous? It's just Ariana. Not even ten seconds later, the door swings open.
I walk in to find Ariana standing there, eyes wide open, as if she'd just seen me appear out of thin air. "Hey Ari."

"Hi." Is all she could manage to say as she closes the door and motions for me to walk to the living room.

"Look Hayd, before you say anything, I'm not mad at you. You're free and can do whatever the hell you want with whoever, it shouldn't be any of my business. I just had a lot going on lately, I had to clear up a few things with so many people, it's just gotten too much and add to that I was a drunk bitch. I don't hate you, I couldn't and I never will. I really hope you understand." She said fast but easily enough for me to understand.

She smiles shyly at me. No matter how tired she looks, she still manages to be the most gorgeous human being that I have ever seen. Stop thinking about that man what the hell is wrong with you?! "And don't forget to work on your dress for Winter Formal." She chuckles at my remark, "You just HAAAD to be even more annoying than you already are, don't you?" I wink at her but she still punches my shoulder without actually hurting me of course. Although she wouldn't hesitate. Better not piss her off.

"If I'm not gonna do it , who the hell will?" I fake an offended expression as I study Ariana's features. She looks stressed but she's, as well, somehow more relaxed, that shimmer in her eyes started glowing brightly again and I've never witnessed anything more breathtaking. "We're not gonna stay here." I say giving her my hand , "Come on let's go, our fate is under our stars, you know? Those big balls of fire that you love very much." I wink at her, she takes a moment to understand what I meant, but as soon as she does a smile extends on her face, knowing exactly where I'm taking her. She grabs her sweater and follows me out the door.

We lay on the damp grass, the exact same way we did when we were younger. For a second we just get lost in the stars shining bright in the clear night sky. "Hey Ari?" I ask turning my head to look at her. "Hmmm..? " Is all she mutters before looking back at me.

"I'm sorry for being a real jerk, I should've really been there for you more, and I shouldn't have been with Sierra, and honestly all I wanted to do was be there dancing with you..." I stop for a second, she's with Dylan, I remind myself, "I didn't mean to hurt my best friend and I would do anything to take everything back." She doesn't say anything until she looks back up to the sky and sighs, "Hayden, No matter what you do you'll always be my Hayden and no one, will EVER and I mean NEVER replace you."

I smile and stare at the sky once again. "Hey Hayd? Do you remember how you used to tell me that the stars will help me through my hard times?" I sit up and nod, "Yeah well I think your little self was right, ever time I come here, things just start to feel like they've been put back into place, and I don't know how but I instantly feel okay when in no way I could've been. It's like the stars decide our fate. But one thing is for sure that this will always be our special place." She smiles brightly and for the first time in a while I can tell that that smile is genuine and honest. I give her a long warm hug and walk her back to the house.

We make some tea and sit on her couch. We decide to call our friends to join. It's been a while since we hung out all together as a group.

Jake's P.O.V:

Why am I doing this? I shouldn't care about getting answers, I've been on my own my entire life. For a few minutes during the cab ride, I debate with myself on whether I should stop the cab and go back or keep on heading to my destination, which is to the apartment or hotel or wherever the hell my so called father is staying.. WITH MY EX-GIRLFRIEND's MOTHER. Can this get any worse? Why is my life so messed up? How did it all go down to this? Only one valuable answer: Him. I cringe at the thought of the person that made my life miserable, feeling unwanted and unloved, even though my mom was there through it all, she was still as unhappy and as lonely as I was.

I get startled as the taxi comes to a stop, for a couple of seconds I stare blankly at the building on my right, I thank and pay the driver and hop out of the car.

I walk into the lobby, and the outside of the building is not even half the size of it's inside. I look around the luxurious lobby, and all the fancy dressed people in ties and twenty inches silk pumps and diamonds.

I go over to the front desk, head low, not wanting to get noticed , and am greeted by a nice enough blonde secretary, her age doesn't surpass the twenties, and her eyes were a beautiful mixed shade of honey and hazel.

"Good evening sir, how may I help you?" She flashes me a smile and presents two perfect rows of bright white teeth. "I'm actually looking for someone, my err- my father." She nods in understanding and places her hands on her keyboard, "What might his name be?" I pause for a moment, reviewing the possibilities and everything that could go wrong during this meeting. "Joseph, Joseph Michael." Her eyes go wide in shock as soon as I pronounce his name. "What's wrong?" I give her a questioning look, "You want to talk to the boss?" She clears her throat and asks in a soft tone. "Boss?" I repeat, "You mean my father OWNS this place?" She replies with a 'mhm' and types in something on her computer. "What's your name?" I give her my information and everything else she needed to know, three minutes later she motions for me to follow her into the elevator.

She presses the top button with a star on it, and types in a code '16081999' . I freeze at the sight of my birth date. "Um do you know what that code might mean?" The secretary shakes her head. "It's my birthday." She looks at me in a weird way "Oh happy birthday!" I chuckle at her misunderstanding, "No no, i meant the code is the date of my birthday." She blushes and looks down, "My apologies. You and your father must be very close.." And this is when I'm starting to wish that elevator would go faster. "I'm actually about to meet him for the first time." I let out a sigh as the blonde girl looks away from me and onto the keypad feeling quite embarrassed.

"We're here." She breaks the silence smiling at me, I thank her as she wishes me good luck and we go our separate ways. I take in a deep breath, I currently stand in front of room 1608 top floor, It's where he's apparently staying. Here goes nothing.. This is the moment that could forever change the route of my life.
