Ariana's P.O.V:

  It's Saturday morning. 8 A.M. to be more precise. I haven't slept all night. I just kept thinking of the possibilities. How could Joseph Michael be Jake's father?

  I came up with a bunch of reasons as for why he is and why he isn't.

  For starters, he looks exactly like an older version of Jake, eyes, hair, face shape.

Both their last names are Michael.

Jake's parents got divorced few years ago, that's kind of how I met him. Long story short, he was sitting alone in a corner, tearing up and cursing to himself. We were in ninth grade and I just came up to him and talked to him and we became good friends. We happened to have a lot in common.

THEY HAVE THE SAME WAYS OF SITTING ON A TABLE AND THE SAME SMILE!

THE DAMNED BIRTHMARK UGH!

That's why he is his father.

But then again, that makes him my STEP-BROTHER?! Nope, no. It's just a random coincidence right? A lot of people look alike. Yep. That's not Jake's father. Nope. I refuse to accept that.

  I hear my phone vibrate on the bedside table and I grab it to read the message that was sent to my phone.

* You have a new message from Dyl  *

Dyl- 'Hey you, how are you feeling this morning? Sleep well? '

Me- "Ugh, horrible, nope. ty for asking tho xox"

Dyl- 'Anything I can do to help? Want me to come over?'

Me- "I'll be fine, I promise. It's fine you probably have better things to do and I might need to take care of some preps for the funeral."

Dyl- 'Alright beautiful, hmu if u need anything. kisses.'

  He's too good for me I swear, such a sweetheart. On a totally unrelated note, I haven't heard from Hayden much this past week,  I tried calling him twice, but it went straight to voicemail. He's either sleeping or just not wanting to talk to me...

  Sigh- I need to get to the bottom of this whole thing about Jake, and before I tell anyone I need answers from my mom.

  So I ask to meet her at Starbucks.

~~~~~~
  "Mom, quick question, I ask straightforward- do you know if your husband ever had kids?" She looses focus on her drink and almost chokes on it, then looks at me.
  "Well, he told me had a son who he lost contact with, now I don't remember his name, but if i'm not wrong he's around your age, maybe a year older. Yes he's a grade higher than you."
  Holy guacamole. "And do you, mother, BY ANY CHANCE know his name? Jace? Jacob? Jake maybe?" She looks at me with wide eyes, as if it got her thinking.
  "Jake or Jace one of those, why do you ask though?" She takes a sip from her coffee.
  "Because mom, I might've dated my step-brother for over a year, all because you and your husband  were too selfish and self-centered to at least invite your kids to the wedding, during which I could've easily taken my decision on whether to date him or not."
  And with that, I storm off. Leaving my mom at the table. She didn't even bother coming after me- ugh. Mom of the year award goes to... Yeahh.. NO. I don't hate her, as much as I want to, I can't, she's still my mother after all.
  A couple minutes later my mom sends me a desperate text "Hey Ariana, I'm sorry I had no idea your ex-boyfriend could be his son, it didn't add up with me. I'll talk to Joseph tonight, again I'm truly sorry. -Mom"
