SLAP!
I let out a whimper of pain as I turn my head back to my father.
"Why kind of messed up joke is this?!" He yelled, angrily. "An F on the easiest test in history?! Are you joking? Get out of my house, I don't want to see your face."
I nodded my head as I turned, walking out of the house. I bit my lip as tears started to well up in my eyes.
I pulled out my phone, dialing Chan's number. Lately, he hasn't been home as much, so I wanted to make sure he was home before I came.
"Hello?" He answered.
"Is it ok-okay if I come over?" I asked, kicking a few rocks as I walked slowly down the sidewalk. "My dad just kicked me out of the house."
"Wait like, kicked you out of the house as in you're not living there?"
I took a deep breath as I looked back at my house. "I hope not."
"Hold on. I'll head home now. Go ahead and walk over. I should be home in about ten minutes. Okay, Seungmin? Don't do anything dumb, please."
"Yeah, okay." I nodded, despite him not being able to see me.
"Stay on the phone with me, okay?"
"I'm okay, Hyung. I won't do anything dumb."
". . . I don't trust you."
I sighed, looking down at my feet as I continued to walk towards Chan's house. I may have been all the times that he had hung up on me that I tried to do dumb things, but I guess just having suddenly cut off from Chan I want to end things because I'm scared. I always have been scared.
About seven minutes pass by and I'm sitting in front of Chan's house, waiting for him to get home. Chan's parents weren't ever home. I wasn't sure why but Chan acted like he didn't care to say anything, so I didn't say anything.
Chan got home, hanging up and bringing me into a hug.
"Where were you?" I asked.
"I. . . I can't tell you, Seungmin." Chan said as he pulled away, rubbing his fingers through my hair.
"Why?"
"I'm not allowed to."
"Oh. Okay."
At least he didn't lie to me.
We went inside and it was a lot of cuddling. Until Chan's phone went off.
"Hello?"
". . ."
"Oh. Seungmin's here with me. I think he'd like talking to you." Chan looked at me, and my face brightened a bit. I knew he was talking about Hyunjin at this point.
". . ."
"Okay." Chan pulled the phone from his ear and put onto speaker.
"Hyunjin?" I squeaked out.
"Hey, Seungmin! I got your text. Sorry I didn't respond. I just. . . I didn't know how to if that makes sense."
"Oh no, it's okay." I smiled. "I'm just glad you're okay. I was just told you were sick."
"Y-Yeah." Hyunjin let out an awkward chuckle. "I should be back in a week."
"A week?" How did he know?
"Yeah. That's what the doctor said."
"Oh okay." So he went to the doctor. "I miss you. . ."
Hyunjin chuckled. "I miss you, too. I can call you tomorrow when you get out of school, okay? Would you like that?"
"Yeah!" I exclaimed. Why did he make me so happy?
He laughed again. "Okay. I'm going to go sleep. I'll talk to you later. Bye."
"Bye, Hyunjin."
The call ended.
The smile was still on my face, and I don't remember the last time I had smiled so big and genuinely.
What color was this?
