The Dragon's Ring

Chapter Six

*TIME: 11:26 AM*

Melissa slammed the door and ran up the stairs to the bathroom with everyone assuming to cry her eyes out.  They couldn't believe she said those things to Mikey back in the woods.  They hate to admit this but she can be quite gullible sometimes.

"Did you guys just see that?" Tony asked everyone.

"No shit, Sherlock Holmes" Robert said sarcastically.  Tony looked at Robert with a angry look and as the 2 brothers were about to get physical with each other, Vixen got in the way between the 2 siblings.

"Enough, you 2" Vixen said, "Now is not the time for you 2 knuckleheads to get into another one of your fights.  Now, we need to talk about Mikey"

"Okay then" Tony said.

"Listen, I know that we took it a little far with Mikey this morning and that us pretending to believe in Bodkins' accusation wasn't the best idea but now, we need to find him, find out who put that ring on his finger and put an end to Mr. Bodkins once and for all"

Tony, Robert and their mother looked at each other, knowing full well that Vixen was right but the question was: How were they going to find him?

*MEANWHILE*

Melissa was sitting on the bathroom floor, having her back against the door and had her hands over her eyes as she continued to cry.  If she had to be honest with herself, she was shocked at herself for how she treated Mikey and called him those things.

Once she finished crying, she remembered what Tony told her about how Mikey liked her.  Well, to be honest, she needed more proof and there was only one way to find out: Mikey's room.

As the last tear dripped from her face, she opened the door very slowly and quietly as to not alert everyone that she was leaving the bathroom.  She tiptoes to the left, reaches the attic door that was at the far end of the hall and the left side of the hall and opens it slowly and quietly.  She enters, closes the door behind her and walks up the stairs and enters the room.

Mikey's room had a King-sized bed, a desk at the left side of his bed and there was bench filled with a bunch of tools on the right side of the room.  As she scans the room, she notices a red book on his bed.  She picks up the book and was surprised to see what it was.

It was a diary.  Not just any diary, it was a 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid Blank Diary'.

"I didn't know Mikey loved 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid'" Melissa said to herself.  She opens the diary and quickly flips through the pages when one diary entry caught her eye.  It was an entry that took place 2 weeks after she and him first met.  She began to read it:

'Wednesday

There's no denying it any longer.  Ever since I laid my eyes on her, I couldn't stop thinking about her and I tried to get those thoughts out of my head but I couldn't.  I like Melissa.  No question about it.

I told my brothers about it and at first, I figured they were going to tease me about it but they didn't.  They asked me if I was going to tell her and I said 'No'.

Obviously, it is way too early and not the right time to do so.  I think I will take it easy and give it some time and see what the future has in store.'

So that was how Tony found out about it: It was because Mikey told him.  Tony did not figure it out on his own.
