The Dragon's Ring

Chapter Thirteen

*HALLOWEEN NIGHT*

*TIME: 6 PM*

It was finally Halloween night and the citizens of the city have gathered at the center, excited and anticipating the start of the Annual Halloween Festival.  The people were dressed up in all kinds of costumes you can think of.

Hiding in the shadows were Mikey, Vixen, Tony, Robert, Melissa, Chris, Chase and Cathy.  Tony was dressed as a football player, Robert was dressed as a clown, Melissa was dressed as a princess (what the fuck?), Chris and Chase were dressed as police officers and Cathy was wearing her karate uniform that she wears for her karate classes.

Vixen on the other hand was not wearing a costume.  She wasn't much of the kind of person who dressed up for Halloween.  She turned to look at Mikey and Mikey looked back at her.

"Okay, Mikey, when the Wizard arrives, we will give you the signal" Vixen said and Mikey nodded his head.  She turned her attention to the others and they all nodded their heads and walked out of the shadows and into the festival.

The festival was crowded with people and they even got spooked and a tiny bit creeped out by the costumes.  There were decorations everywhere, tables that had a huge variety of foods and drinks and there was a stage for what they guessed was for bands or something.

Then, someone got onto the stage and had the microphone in his hands.

"LADIES AND GENTLEMAN!!" the man announced, "WELCOME TO THE 2019 ANNUAL HALLOWEEN FESTIVAL!!"

Everyone cheered and little did anyone know, the Wizard was watching them from on top of the roof of an apartment complex.

"I KNOW YOU FOLKS ARE READY, SO LET THE FESTIVAL COMMENCE!!" the man said and just before anyone could start dancing or anything, the Wizard landed feet first onto the stage, making everyone jump from startlement.

"Did I miss the party?" the Wizard said sarcastically and everyone gasped, "Because it is about to get MESSY!!"

The Wizard raised his hands into the air and bolts of electricity burst out of his fingertips and struck the sky, forming a storm cloud in the sky and it started to rain heavily with bolts of lightning striking the ground near the festival.

People began screaming and running around in circles while Tony, Robert, Vixen, Melissa, Chris, Chase and Cathy just looked at the utter chaos that was happening.  The Wizard began laughing maniacally and grew to the size of a 3-story building and was looking down at the group and raised up a foot.

"Say goodbye, fools!!" the Wizard said and was about to slam his foot down when Vixen and the rest whistled, giving Mikey the signal to attack.  In a split-second, Mikey jumped from the shadows and punched the Wizard to the ground, sending him flying a good 2 feet.

The Wizard rose to his feet and saw the full moon, which wasn't surrounded by the clouds and looked at Mikey.

"Mikey, came to stop me, but you won't" The Wizard said and pointed to the moon, "Look above you"

Before Vixen and the rest were going to warn Mikey not to do so, he looked up at the moon and they noticed that the Dragon's Ring was glowing.  The Wizard began chuckling evilly to himself and began to watch to see if Mikey was going to try to fight against the ring's control.

To his confusion, nothing happened.  Mikey then turned his head to look at the Wizard and he noticed the confusion on his face.  The Wizard didn't understand what was going on.  Why wasn't the ring trying to take over his mind?  Vixen thought for a moment and something struck in her head when she remembered something.
