(ONE SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT! And a bit of a fluff?)
Standing in front of the cafe, you looked left and right down the sidewalk to see if he was coming.
Mumen Rider agreed to be meeting you here for coffee, and you showed up a bit early just in case.
However after about 15 minutes from your agreed time, you began to get worried.
Just then, a bike came pedaling up with said man you were waiting for, huffing and puffing for air.
"Sorry I'm late, I got caught up in traffic."
But you could tell by the scratches on him and the scrapes on his cheek that he was most definitely not in traffic.
"It's fine, I didn't wait long." you beamed, and he smiled back.
He ordered some tea while you ordered some ginger ale while the two of you chatted pleasantly.
"So your only transportation is that bike?"
"Yes, it's trustworthy, and it gets me to where I need."
"Why not a motorcycle? Those are much faster, and takes a lot less work." you suggested.
"Uh, heh, I use to have a license for one, but after breaking too many road infringements and speeding, it was taken away." he chuckled sheepishly.
"I see, have you ever flown?"
"Only in a plane, but I seldom travel abroad."
"Maybe I can take you flying on my staff, sometime. Ya know, a change from riding a bike, right?"
He looks hesitant, but agrees politely.
"It would be a good experience." he said with a chuckle.
"So, how's hero work for you?"
"It's tough, but a hero mustn't back down from a fight. I've been working especially hard to fix my bike to help it go faster with less pedaling. Dealing with monsters, however, is a different story."
"Hm."
"I know I'm not the strongest of all heros, but I still give it my all, and that's what I believe counts most! Even if I am there to hold off the enemies, I can still offer some help and buy time for the other heros."
You smiled fondly at his optimistic attitude and found appreciation in his determination to be a great hero of justice.
"And you're Class C rank 1? Why not get promoted?"
"I could never do that, I'm not strong enough to call myself a Class B."
"That's not true, you're more than qualified enough."
"But-"
"Listen, I get it, there are guys who rank above you, and they're up there for good reason, but you should be the one up there with them because of a better reason."
"Huh?" he lifts his head to look at you across the table.
"You deserve just as much of a chance to be a better hero as anyone else, and what's more, you're a better person than anyone I know in Class B. They all want to fight to be more famous, or they're always trying to look for an opportunity to show off again, but you don't ever fake your kindness. You don't ever fight just to be noticed. You fight because it is what's right. You're a very genuine person, and everyone admires that about you, Mumen Rider; that you are a genuine hero."
He was about to say something, but stops himself as tears began to fall from behind his goggles.
"Mumen? I'm sorry if I sai-"
