"Incinerate."

The hot blast of pure heat rushed past you, and you swore you almost forgot that you weren't using your intangibility.

The sensation and smell of burning alerted you to quickly bat out the flames that were left on your clothes, before turning back to look the cyborg in the eye.

Not even one minute after telling him to keep things low when he suggested you to stop using your intangibility to make the little training fight more fair, and Genos is using all his firepower to try and burn you to a crisp.

"You almost killed me! Keep things slow, remember?" your whining didn't seem to get to Genos as he was gawking at you.

Looking down, your leggings were half burnt off and practically falling off of you and your shirt and coat was completely singed off on one side.

It was all fun and games at first, with you able to just stand around and only focus on doing your spells while Genos was zipping around you trying to bombard you with attacks that would just end up slipping through you anyhow.

A bit annoyed, he then suggests that you play fair and stop using the intangibility to try and make things not only more interesting, but also beneficial for both him and you for training.

At least, that's how he put it before using that last incinerating move on you.

The indecency from the initial exposure was enough, but your undergarments had burned away too, and your skin was tingling red at the spots where the fire had reached you.

"STOP LOOKING, YOU PERVERT!" the anger in your voice was more from the pain that was now settling in from the burns.

Genos, noticing his behavior, quickly looked down and turned away while you quickly came back down on your staff and began healing yourself. He didn't say anything else while that was happening, but you heard his apology after the last burn was being treated.

"Ok, stay where you are. I just need to get some new clothes." you felt calmer now , but your cheeks were pink from being stared at.

You groaned inwardly at the tattered and seared remains of the once expensive articles of clothing. They were bought on sale, and you were lucky enough to snag them.

'Why me?'

Your repairing magic took a lot of energy which was why you rarely, if not, sparingly used it, but your summoning spell was still experimental, so you only limited them to smaller things. Even then, you never could properly do it.

And so you sat for a bit, contemplating between just sitting there mending your clothes and possibly exhausting yourself, or to try and summon your clothes from the bathhouse and risk a wardrobe malfunction in the process, but even when you can get a decent set of clothes to wear, you'll still have to fix the burnt ones after.

You chose the former.

"Genos, this might take a bit, I need to fix my clothes, ok?"

There was no reply from him, and you turned your head to see his back still to you and his head still facing the ground.

"Genos, you don't have to be staring down, ya know..." then you had an itching suspicion.

Quietly flying over on your staff, so as not to alert him with your footsteps, you peeked over his shoulders to see him with a completely frozen expression, and strangely, not visibly or audibly breathing.
