Speed of Sound Sonic x Reader

(Lemonade, anyone? Jkjk, this one's a one-shot.)

"YOU!"

You turned your head toward that familiar voice.

"We finally meet again, and this time, I'm not letting you get away." Sonic wasn't dressed in his ninja outfit, and instead was in a black hoodie and skinny jeans. A more fitting casual look.

"This time, I've come prepared. You wont be able to do any damage to me any longer. And once I'm done with you, you'll be wishing you never came across the likes of m- huh?"

You were on your staff and already flying off away from him.

"HEY, I'M NOT DONE WITH YOU!" Sonic began to run up the buildings and leaped from structure to structure only to see you climbing higher and higher into the sky.

"COWARD! FACE ME LIKE A-"

You sent bolts of lightning flying his way, and he dodges them all in a blink of an eye.

"HA, YOU MISSED!" he tries to look for you in the sky, but didn't see your silhouette.

Then he felt something tugging at his hood, and he was being lifted off the building. You had a hold of him, and he was flailing as you skyrocketed over to the ocean.

Before you could drop him however, he slashes his hood off with a kunai, and grabs your staff, vaulting himself on, in front of you.

"You're mine now!" he draws out a sword and gets ready to strike, but your staff suddenly falls with you and Sonic still on.

You sat perfectly calm as you neared closer and closer to the water. Sonic on the other hand, still seeking to exact his revenge, quickly thrusted his sword into you, only for it to go straight through without actually hurting you.

'Damnit, she's still has intangibility?!'

Then you broke the water's surface.

SPLASH!

It wasn't that bad for you, since you were still intangible, but the force from impact was enough to shatter bones.

You let youself slowly sink downward, while you see Sonic gasping for air. You had no reason to worry because you could wither stay as you are and just rely on your ability to breathe under water, or shapeshift into something inconspicuous and just swim away.

You chose the latter, and quickly changed into an unassuming fish, finding a school of similar fish nearby, and blending in.

He tries to spot you and dives underneath, quickly swimming to your school. Narrowing his eyes and looking left and right, he waits a bit more before going back up for air.

'Whew, that was close.' you thought.

You stayed safe and swam a bit farther til you were sure you were a good distance away from him.

You had left the school of fish, and was swimming back to shore, when you came across a rocky bay area.

Coming out from the water, now in your human form, you looked with annoyed expression at your wet clothes and hair.

The salt water made your skin feel icky, and your eyes and mouth did not like the irritating water.

Looking about to see if no one was around, and indeed it was a deserted area. You stripped down rinsed youself off with clean water using your magic, then dried off in the sun. You had done the same for your clothes, but also made a fire nearby to dry them off faster.
