Jimin has had a rough day. He's struggling with their new dance at practice, he hasn't quite met the weight the managers wanted him at and he'd been chewed out for it, and he just feels so worn out and exhausted. On his way back to the dorm, he had texted Yoongi to see if he could come home early, that he needed to be with him. He hated pulling Yoongi out of the studio, knowing his Alpha was always so busy, but he needed his touch and his scent sooner rather than later, feeling like he was breaking apart at the seams.
Yoongi calls him not long after, rather than responding by text. "Are you okay, Jimin-ah?"
Jimin whimpers a little, pulling the covers up around his face from where he'd burrowed in their bed not long after arriving home. It was the only place that smelled like him and Yoongi. "Not really," he mumbles.
"What happened?" Yoongi coos and Jimin tries really, really hard not to cry. He doesn't want to be another pathetic, overemotional Omega. Even though he feels like one right now.
"I don't wanna talk about it." He says, throat tight. "Can you just come home?"
"I'm finishing up right now, I'll be there in twenty minutes tops. Want me to pick up some food?"
Jimin's stomach grumbles; he hasn't eaten since breakfast. But he thinks about the weigh in, about the manager-hyungs' disappointed faces, so he says, "No. Just come home."
"Okay," Yoongi says. "I'll be there soon. Be strong for me, okay?"
Jimin doesn't feel very strong. But he'll try, for his Alpha. Yoongi always knows best. "Okay, hyung."
"I love you, Jiminie."
"I love you, too."
Jimin squeezes his eyes shut as he drops his phone, holding himself together by sheer force of will alone. Taehyung and Jin are somewhere else in the dorm, having left him be when he declared he was going to his room. He kind of wishes he had asked Tae to stay with him. But Yoongi is good on his word, as he always is, and is quietly entering their room not even fifteen minutes later. Jimin pokes his head out of the covers at the sound and the sight of his Alpha, at the pure comfort he exudes, makes him fall apart. He starts crying, unbidden sobs hiccuping in his chest and Yoongi is quickly kicking off his shoes and stripping off his jacket in his haste to get to the bed. Jimin reaches his arms out, needing Yoongi close, and Yoongi slides into the bed easily, pulling Jimin to his chest. Jimin cries harder at the warmth that rolls of his Alpha, the smell of sandalwood and baked sweets filling his head.
"Jimin," Yoongi coos. "Oh, Jiminie, it's okay. I'm here now, you're going to be okay."
Yoongi lets him cry because he knows that he needs it. Jimin's head hurts, his eyes hurt, but it feels so good to finally let go. Eventually, his tears stop but his breathing won't even out, air hitching hard in his chest and it aches, like he can't get enough oxygen in his blood.
"Hey," Yoongi says. "Hey, just breathe with me, Jiminie, okay?" Yoongi grasps his hand and places it onto the Alpha's chest, next to Jimin's cheek. "In," he feels Yoongi's chest puff out and he follows his lead, sucking in a shuddering breath. "Out." Yoongi's chest deflates and Jimin does the same. They repeat the process until Jimin is breathing normally on his own. Yoongi releases his hand, and cups his cheek, tilting his head upwards. Jimin peers at him through puffy eyes and Yoongi's own are so soft, but look so concerned. He hates that he's worried his Alpha so much.
"Tell me what happened." Yoongi says softly and Jimin whimpers, lower lip trembling. He needs to talk about it, but it doesn't mean he wants to. But he trusts Yoongi more than anyone he ever has, and so he talks.
He recounts his day, talking about the failed dance practice, the disastrous weigh in, how awful he's been feeling lately. He talks about how hungry he is, and how he rations his food and works out as much as he can but still can't make weight to keep the managers happy. He talks and talks, and Yoongi lets him, eyes never leaving his face.
