A Monday afternoon finds Jin alone in the dorm, having been sent home from vocals early because his throat was bothering him. He assured the noona it was just a little sore, that he'd be fine with some tea. But she worried about him stressing the achy muscles too much and sent him home anyway.

When the driver drops him off at the dorm, Jin makes himself some tea anyway, twirling in a spoonful of honey to help with the irritation. The living room feels too big and empty without his dongsaengs filling it, so he sequesters into his and Namjoon's room, curling up in the armchair with his tea and his laptop. Now see, Jin likes checking up on everyone else. It's part of his eomma aesthetic, although that's not the only reason he does it. He's loved, still loves, watching the members grow, as a group and as individuals. He watches the interviews he's not in, just to see if there are tidbits of information he may have missed or cute stories he might not have heard.

So when the recent interview of Namjoon and Yoongi pops up on his feed, he doesn't hesitate to click it. It's audio only, but it's been uploaded to YouTube with headshots of Yoongi and Namjoon, and color coded captions for each of them. Jin sips at his tea as the video loads.

It starts off simple enough, the MC introducing the Alphas, exchanging a few pleasantries. They talk about the comeback, about how well it's doing, and everything seems fine and dandy.

That is, until the MC says, Do you still consider yourself a rapper?

Jin tenses in his seat. He has a feeling this isn't going to end well. As he listens further, he realizes his intuition was correct. The MC pretty bluntly declares that Namjoon shouldn't be in the hip hop industry because of his sexual orientation. Namjoon tries to defuse the situation, but the MC is having none of it. He then makes some lewd remarks about Jin himself (but doesn't use Jin's name, only referring to him as Namjoon's Omega, as if that was his only identity. It makes Jin's blood boil a little).

And then Yoongi jumps in, defending Namjoon and shutting the MC down effectively. The manager that was with them forces the MC to return the topic to the album, and nothing about the pictures or their relationship is brought up again.

The whole thing has Jin feeling a little sour. He knows that Namjoon is working hard in the studio today, but he just really needs to talk to him. Knowing that a phone call will only serve to interrupt too much, and possibly throw Namjoon out of his lyric writing, music producing state, Jin decides to open their private chat and send him a text instead.

Seokjinnie: hey sweetie, I just wanted to check in on you <3

Namjoon's response is a lot quicker than Jin anticipated. He either was already taking a break, or took one just to text Jin back. Either way, it made Jin's heart warm.

Namjoonie: hi baby. Doing fine, just mixing tracks today. Jimin said they sent you home, how are you feeling?

Seokjinnie: noona made too big a deal out of it, I'm fine. My throat is sore, but I've sung through worse, you know. Remember the last time we performed in Japan?

Jin smirks at the memory, a little heat fluttering in his belly.

Namjoonie: How could I forget? You begged me to fuck your mouth the night before, at the hotel. You could barely talk the next morning, and we had to pour tea and cough syrup down your throat until you could sing somewhat normally. Your pitch was still lower than usual.

Seokjinnie: you liked it <3

Namjoonie: the blowjob or your voice? Haha I did like your raspy voice tho. Reminds me of when Jimin gets all worked up on stage.

Seokjinnie: ew please do not reference my child and blowjobs in the same sentence.

Namjoonie: it wasn't the same sentence ;)
