The little girl gasped as she fell down a rabbit hole.

She tumbled head over heels- or was it heels over head?- all the long way down. Where was she going to land?!

She landed in a room. There was a little table with a bottle, key, and cake on it. The cake said to 'Eat Me' and the bottle said to 'Drink Me'. She grabbed all three.

Very carefully, she opened the bottle and took a sip. Just a small one; her sister always said, "Never, NEVER, drink something that you don't know what it is. Never." But the little girl's curiosity was too strong, so she made a compromise.

Strangely, it felt as though the room was getting much larger. Or maybe it was she who was getting smaller?

After a moment, she had stopped shrinking and stood level with a small door. She hadn't noticed it before.

She tried the handle, but it was locked. Frustrated, the girl sat down on the floor and leaned against the door to think.

What to do? What to do?

Then she smacked her fist into her palm. "I bet the key opens the door!" She gasped to herself excitedly.

She tried it and it did indeed work.

Carefully, she opened the door and was surprised to see a forest. She slowly walked out.

"W-Where am I?" She whispered nervously.

"I think the better question is 'Who are you?'" A voice commented.

The girl whirled around, finding no one in the near vicinity. "I'm Alice. Who are you?" She retorted. It was bad manners for one not to appear to those one was talking to. At least, she assumed so, as it was bad manners not to look at the person you were talking to.

A grinning striped cat's face appeared, disembodied, in the air. "I am the Cheshire cat."
