Two years had gone by since you last broken up with Kid and another year was going to fly by as well. It was early December and the first snow was beginning to fall. You look up into the sky, watching the pure white flakes fall gradually to the grassy ground as you thought to yourself about all that has happened so far. You've been through a lot in the first year to the point where you almost closed yourself off to those around you. The feeling of happiness was already gone when you and Kid stopped speaking to each other when you were together. You had known the relationship would crumble, but not the way it had turned out to be.

Every time you think about it, your heart aches a little, however, not as much as it used to. You had learn to push past it and look forward instead; something you wanted to believe that is. When you looked back, you had a sense that you allowed to let it happen with your childishness. You did bicker at him a lot when he came home stressful from work rather than comfort him and that would soon turn into an argument. You also chose to stop trying for him and cut off on speaking terms and chose to stay isolated, and he abide by them, not even inching to attempt to talk to you and say sorry, like he used to. He probably didn't want another argument to deal with, or perhaps he knew nothing would be gained if he continued the endless cycle of him being the first one to say sorry.

Thinking about it now made you want to slap yourself in the face, but then again, it was no excuse for him to cheat. If the both of you had just been adults about it and communicate, it would probably end way differently... maybe. Although, it's not like you can go back to the past and fix where the problem started, what's done is done.

Feeling cold from standing out in the snow for awhile, you rub your face a bit as you walked to a nearby cafe. The warmth of the shop hitting against your cold skin made you feel good and you ordered a hot (f/d). Once your order was placed, you sit on a chair nearby and took your phone out to check your social media while you waited.

After waiting for a couple of minutes, your drink was done and you happily took the hot beverage and placed it back at the table you were at and sat down. You take the cap off to blow on the beverage so that you could hurry up and drink it. Once you thought it was cool enough, you took a sip of it and smiled to yourself happily, feeling the warmth in your body, making any coldness that was left to be gone now. You keep taking sips of your drink whilst being on your phone until the drink was all gone, but before you left the place, you ordered another one to take back with you, knowing you would crave its goodness when you reached home.

You hold the drink in hand and go to your car that was parked near the park and place the drink in the cup holder. You close your car door, locking it in the process and began driving back to your place. Your place was about fifteen minutes away from where you were, but it took some time to get back since there was a lot of traffic due to people still being out to try and buy something for their loved ones. You sigh to yourself as you look at your hot drink with a frown, knowing it might get cold when you get home.

Finally out of traffic, you got home fairly quickly once you were out of there, and your grabbed your drink and felt the cup, it was now lukewarm, better than it going completely cold. You exit your car and locked the doors. You walk up to the entrance of the building, but stopped completely when you saw who was sitting on the stairs, slightly shivering as snow was piling on them as they would occasionally brush it off of them. It was Kid, sitting there with his usual grumpy face as he looked at the ground.

He didn't seem to notice you yet so you wondered if you could just get out of there without being seen. You took some steps back, but stopped in your tracks, mentally punching yourself for being a coward and tried to avoid facing him. Besides, where were you going to go anyway? You don't want to pop up at any of your friend's houses just to say you're trying to hide from your ex that visited your apartment complex and not even knowing what he was doing there in the first place and left out of anxiousness.
