One Piece: Eustass Kid (One Shots)

Kind of angst? Maybe... not really? I don't know... This is a Victorian Era AU, the title was too long, but that's fine lolol. Kid is going to be OOC to retain a more realistic way of a butler. Katakuri will also be 6'8 so he isn't a giant in this lol, not to mention his teeth will be normal. He is also age 22 so that it's not too far off from the reader's age. Big mom is also normal sized, just so you don't get confused.

The amount of research for this chapter tired me out... especially when google kept redirecting me to the royal wedding with some of the searches LOL it's not what I want, G O O G L E.

It has been a hectic morning of following through with your schedules as you had to always arrive on time to make a good impression with whomever you had to meet. You were finally able to take a break from everything, even though it wasn't as long as you hoped for it to be. You sat down on a nearby stone bench in the courtyard to take a breather. You've been walking all day, and if anything, you wanted to take a nap from the lack of energy... but sadly, you can't.

"Your highness, you shouldn't be out here in the blazing sun. Do take proper care of your skin." a gruff voice said sternly as the bright sun was now being blocked by a white laced parasol.

Upon hearing the voice, you looked up to see your personal butler, Kid Eustass (it looks and sounds weird... I know lol). He has beautiful red hair with eyes to match it, but his natural scowling face can put you off if you don't know him. He is always well mannered around you and your parents, however he tends to lose his temper quite easily when it came to the staffs or the towns people. He had quite the character, but he always got the job done.

"Must you address me as such?" you sighed.

"I must." he said. "You are royalty, my lady. Now, why are you out here unattended?"

"I'm just tired." you said. "I'm overbooked and it's wearing me out. Just thinking about how tomorrow will be the same makes me feel even more exhausted."

"It's a given..." he said. "You need to find a suitor before your mother and father grows impatient. You've held off all your marriage proposals so far since the age of 13, my lady; you are now the age of 18."

"Don't act like it is all entirely my fault." you huffed. "You have a part in it as well! You've scared off about eight of my suitors!"

"I only wish for you to marry a suitable man." he said calmly as he closed his eyes before reopening them. "The way they looked at you... it was not of good intentions, I'm sure of it."

"I thank you." you chuckled. "Let's change the subject now, I don't want to speak about my marriage proposals right now when I'm scheduled to meet another one in thirty minutes."

"As you wish, my lady. What would you like to converse about?" he asked.

"I want to talk about your day, so please take a seat." you smiled.

"Your highness... I don't think we sh-"

"I insist." you interrupted him. "I want to be distracted from all of this, even if it's just for a moment."

Kid looks at you a final time before taking a deep sigh. "Alright, but not a moment longer than twenty five minutes."

You smile that you got Kid to cave in as he sat down next to you. He talks about how the staff had made critical mistakes in the morning, causing him to find replacements for anything they broke and that he also had to fix the food because the chefs had a feud against one another. The way he was explaining everything made you giggle with how angry he was sounding just reliving it. He even spoke about how he had to go out to the shops to buy more of the king's favorite wine, until he saw a familiar green haired man. It was the General of the palace, hopelessly roaming around the town on foot.
