Today was pretty special. It was going to be your first date with Kid and your friends were practically pleading you not to go. In school he was pretty aggressive and seemed to always be angry. He was well known for being a delinquent seeing that he was always picking fights and a frequent visitor to the principals office or more like he practically lived in the principals office. However, you always knew why he fought and that was because people would try to pick on you, and he'd make sure they wouldn't even think about picking on you.

Kid grew up with you and he had always protected you from oncoming bullies since you were always too kind to do anything. You would always happily thank him, but he'd just brush it off and tell you to stop being so weak. In which you had gotten better at being stronger. You learned to speak your mind more and no longer backed down when someone tried to confront you for unreasonable things. Needless to say, Kid was quite proud that you grew stronger as a person.

Now, back to the date, you were in your room wondering what to wear. Since you were always dressed in something that you could only describe as tidy. You decided to wear something cute and much more appealing. You even decide to lightly curl your hair and wear light makeup, making sure you extenuate your lips with pink lip tint. You look into the mirror an looked over your outfit and lightly blushed at yourself seeing that this was a pretty new look to you. You were used to a skirt, but getting dolled up was something you rarely thought about. As you awed at yourself, you heard the doorbell go off and you quickly grabbed your shoulder bag and waved to your parents before opening the door.

There stood Kid in his usual punk rock exterior as he lazily stood there until he took a good look at you. His face had immediately flushed red as you stood there slightly embarrassed by his gaze.

"Is it too much...?" you mumbled quietly.

"No..." he said quietly, still in a daze.

"You better not be giving my daughter the googly eyes, Kid!" your father said protectively from behind.

"N-No! Of course not, sir!" Kid said nervously as he stood up straighter.

"I trust you, which is why I have no problem with you taking her out on a date. I've known you since you were a child, so take good care of her, okay?" he said a bit more calmer.

"Yes sir!"

"Relax" your father chuckled. "I won't harm you... unless you hurt my daughter."

"Dad...!" you whined as you blushed in embarrassment, face palming.

"Dear, we should let them go now before you embarrass our daughter even more." your mother said coming to your rescue as she tugged your father back into the house as he tried to struggle out of her death grip. "Have fun!"

Your mother closed the door, leaving the two of you alone in an awkward and embarrassing state.

"Sorry about my dad..." you apologized.

"Heh, it's fine." he replied. "Come on, let's go."

The two of you walk together side by side as neither one of you were brave enough to hold hands yet. Although, you enjoyed walking closely beside him seeing that he would usually tell you to walk ahead of him whilst giving you an insult in the process. Feeling happy at the thought, you worked up the courage to gently hold onto his hand.

You feel Kid tense up beside you, but he immediately held your hand into a firm hold. You slightly blush at the feeling and smiled contently. Kid who was blushing like mad looked at you from the corner of his eye and felt his heart swell up from your smile. It made him squeeze your hand in affection as the two of you continued to walk towards your destination.
