Cheryl sat on her bed, thinking about what had just went on downstairs many hours ago. Steps were heard and Cheryl looked up to find the sight of her mother.
"Mommy." Cheryl whispered, nearly beginning to cry again.
Penelope sat beside her daughter, comforting her.
"Cheryl, you're the greatest addition this family has ever had. Nothing will ever change that, not even your sexuality. I love you regardless of who you choose to love." Penelope began. "You're my only daughter, Cheryl. I could never think you're a disappointment to me or this family. I've raised you to be better than I am. That's exactly what you are. You're braver, kinder, smarter, and more beautiful than I could ever be."
Cheryl looked up to her mother as a few tears ran down her face. The older Blossom wiped her daughters tears.
"Don't cry, sweetheart. I know it's hard right now, especially with how your father feels.. But I promise you, as your mother, I will love you unconditionally. If your father decides to not support your choices in life, just know I always will. You always have me, and you will always have Jason."
Cheryl nodded as she embraced her mother. Penelope wrapped her arms around Cheryl and held her, kissing the top of her head.
"I love you, mom."
"I love you too, Cheryl."
Cheryl pulled away from her mother's embrace and looked up at her.
"Mom?"
"Yes?"
"Jason said something about not being able to trust daddy. Do you know anything about that?" Cheryl said in a whisper.
"No, I don't." The older Blossom stated as she tensed up.
Cheryl could sense her mother's discomfort and decided to let go of the subject.
"So, Cheryl.. Tell me about this very lucky girl." Penelope said with a wide smile to her daughter.
Cheryl smiles at her mother, just at the thought of Toni.
"Oh, mom.. She's great. She was really annoying at first.. But she grew on me once she continued to pursue me. She's one of the strongest people I know. She inspires me to be braver and more confident in life and everything without even trying or knowing." Cheryl started. Penelope looked into her daughters eyes and smiled. "She's not the smartest.." Both Blossoms giggled. "But, she definitely has the ability to be greater than she could ever even imagine.. I don't think she knows it, but I do. I can tell she's a very talented photographer just by looking at this one picture." Cheryl acknowledged. "I mean mom, she's soo talented. I know she is."
Cheryl got up from her bed, walking over to her bag and pulling out the photo Toni had took of her out of her. She looks down at the picture and smiles for a moment before handing it over to her mom. The older Blossom looked at the photo then back up at her daughter.
"She took this?"
"Yes, she did."
"You look beautiful in it, sweetheart... And you're very much so correct. She is very talented. She took an amazing shot of you with a gorgeous background." Penelope admitted.
Cheryl nodded and sat back down next to her mother.
"The only thing is that she's very... Mysterious I guess you could say. She doesn't open up much, and when she does... She tries so hard to get the conversation over and done. She's doesn't really like talking about her past or her present even... All I know is that her father left when she was young, and her mother died and that she has a younger brother. She only has the support of her best friends around her." Cheryl told abc paused for a moment. "She also has this image at school... A reputation if you will..."
"And what kind of reputation would that be?" The older redhead asked.
"That she's trouble. She's always getting into trouble with the principal. She fights or insults anyone who gets in her way and never cares about anything."
"Well she's in a gang, I don't believe any gang member is soft and easygoing since they are most likely to always defend themselves against danger." Penelope explained.
"Yeah I understand. But that's not all..."
Penelope nodded, signaling Cheryl to go on with what she was saying.
"She has a reputation of being a heartbreaker I. guess you could say? I don't really know.. But she's a very popular girl around school... I mean any girl who is also into girls is just all over her. She claims to have a reputation of just a one time thing kind of person." Cheryl admitted.
"And what do you think about that?" Her mother asked.
"I think that it's..." Cheryl paused. "I don't know what to think about that. I just know that Antoinette Topaz is a person who makes me smile, laugh and happy. She makes me want to be a better person. She's brave and strong.... and beautiful. Just beautiful." Cheryl admits as she smiles up at her mom.
The Blossoms look into each others eyes and smile.
"Well, as long as she makes you happy.. I approve." Penelope said as she leaned in to kiss her daughters forehead.
"Thanks mom."
"Of course, sweetie." Penelope said as she got up. "Now get to bed. It's getting late and you have school tomorrow." She said as she began walking towards the door.
"Good night, mom."
"Good night, Cheryl."
With that, Cheryl's mother closed the door on the way out. Cheryl immediately took out her phone, texting Toni.
You can come over now.
Cheryl heard a knock on her window about a minute later. She rushed over and opened it allowing the pink-haired serpent to walk across and enter.
"Already here, babe."
"Great timing." Cheryl chuckled, pulling the other girl into a hug.
The girls pulled apart and went over to sit on the bed.
