You sat in your office, marking checks and ex's on your student's latest arithmancy exam. A fourth year Slytherin student you caught cheating on this exam, currently sat in a chair to the left of your desk, doing his Potions homework. He had been quiet this entire time, probably thankful he didn't have to do anything aimless or even dangerous.

Your heart stops when the door bursts open, and you and the student jerk at the sound. Lupin stood in the doorway, looking frantic.

"It's Padfoot," he pants, probably having run seven flights of stairs to come get you. You turn to the student, a puzzled expression on his face.

"Alright, Gordon, you may leave," you say, trying not to sound to anxious. He wastes no time gathering his belongings and dashing out of the room. "That's your final warning!," you call after him. Lupin motions you to leave, but you're already halfway to the door. Closing it behind you, you two sprint down the steps onto the grounds.

"You found Pettigrew, then?," you ask.

"He's been Ronald Weasley's pet rat this whole time," he groaned. You make a similar noise in equal fury. There had been rumors of the infamous Sirius Black coming in and out of the school, supposedly out to kill Harry Potter. You had no idea whether he had actually entered the school, but you knew there would be another reason for him to come.

Your mind raced with adrenaline, and your feet pounded into the grass even faster. Remus remained by your side, occasionally making sure you got up the hills alright.

Finally, you'd made it to the Whomping willow. It already detected your presence, and swayed its branches as if suddenly disturbed.

"Ready?," Lupin asks. You nod, and both make a run for it at the tree. You both throw defensive spells at it to not be knocked over by its branches, now swinging fiercely at you. You slide into the hole by its roots first, with Lupin right behind you.

You continue your way towards the Shrieking Shack, letting Remus get ahead of you while he warning you to get your wand out incase something didn't go as planned. You quickly do so, mentally preparing your mind with any possible counter curses.

To your relief, you heard voices up the steps once you reached the house. Lupin bounded up the staircase, while you carefully follow behind. You watch from a floor down as he bursts through the double doors, yelling "Expelliarmus!," and listen as the sound of a wand drops to the floor. You slowly climb the stairs, your heart beat refusing to slow down.

"Well well, Sirius, looking rather ragged, are we?," you hear Lupin say. Your heart skips a beat at the sound of his name. "Finally the flesh reflects the madness within."

"Well you'd know all about the madness within, wouldn't you, Remus?" The sound of his voice, so foreign, yet so familiar. You suddenly realize how real this is, and you stood away from the entrance, somewhat scared to meet the man on the other side.

You come into view of the doorway, Sirius' back to you, embracing his old friend. Tears had started forming in your eyes; you failed to convince yourself to not be so weepy.

The werewolf looked up at you, tapping his friends shoulder and motioned him to turn around. It had become impossible to take it in all at once.
