The love interest is mostly up to you for this chapter; but it's no one specified in this reading.

Also, I won't be able to update full chapters for this Friday and Saturday due to my schedule. I might just update them a bit late so they still have some content.

On with the story...

The sound of Christmas music played from the record player in the corner. There was red, green, and white as far as the eye can see. When the Order said they'd have a Christmas party, they weren't playing around. It was like inhaling chunks of pine needles and holly, and spitting out tinsel and gift wrapper. Everyone there was nicely dressed and socializing with one another. You, however, filled with excitement when you saw your best friend from school, Alice Longbottom.

"Hello there, (y/n)," she beamed. You exchanged hugs before addressing her newly wed husband, Frank.

"So good to see you both," you said. "Usually when we do, we're in an immediate threat of danger." They both laughed.

"It's true," said Frank. "Aren't we all glad to have a day to not be fighting dark magic." You nodded, looking around until you spotted Albus, who was talking to a pregnant Lily and James. You hadn't seen them in some months, up until the point Lily was too far along to fight in the Order. Her belly was only slightly swelled.

"So, how're you and (insert person's name) getting along?," Alice asked.

"Just fine, thanks."

"Your father still doesn't approve?"

"Unfortunately. He's still very set in his ways." Your father was against you dating a Muggle since the moment you told him. Nearly as against you fighting alongside Dumbledore and a bunch of other "half bloods" and "blood traitors."

"I'm sorry to hear that," Frank said, pityingly.

"Well, we're doing just fine regardless.

"That's right, good for you," Alice smiled, wrapping an arm around her husband's waist.

Together, you talked happily of many things. You caught up with Rubeus Hagrid, about all of the creatures he's been caring for. You had a good laugh listening to Sirius Black and Remus Lupin, who told stories about old times at Hogwarts. Edgar Bones announced he and his wife were expecting a child, and everyone drank and cheered at the news. Eventually, you even got a spare moment to talk to Albus, and thanked him for inventing you.

"Happy Christmas," you held out a small brown paper bag, with a ribbon tied around it. He opened it eagerly, and looked rather pleased when he pulled out a pair of thick, woolen socks. James, who stood nearby gave a hearty laugh.

"(Y/n) has given our dear Headmaster a pair of socks!" A few others who had heard chuckled. But Dumbledore still smiled.

"My star Ravenclaw knows I enjoy things beyond just books." He thanked you again, and soon everyone was exchanging gifts. Alice got you a quill that wrote on its own. You gave her a pack of seeds for a dittany bush.

It was a wonderful evening to spend with friends.
