House: Slytherin

Love Interest: Sirius BlackThis is just an epilogue (ew, gross. I know) into the update I wanted to post today. Figured it would be helpful in understanding Canis Major, which isn't posted yet. Hope you enjoy.
Today marks twelve years your husband Sirius Black has been sentenced to Azkaban. Whenever you got sad thinking about him, you pulled out an old Muggle-style immovable photograph you've kept of him. There he was young, with long dark hair even then. You'd taken it on your first date, fifteen years ago, to a Muggle restaurant in order not to run into anyone you knew from work.
Sitting on your bed after a hard day of arithmancy lessons, up on the seventh floor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, you think of him. You observe every detail of the photo, hoping to find something you haven't seen before. You think of the times before.
1977
Thirty bloody minutes, and this bloke still wasn't here, you thought, waiting at your secret hiding spot. You stare out the tiny window of the small attic-like room, watching the sun begin to set and turn the sky orange.
As you had imagined, your friend Sirius came running up the steps in a panic, and apologized for being late.
'Well hello there,' you say in disguised sarcasm.
'Hello, lovely,' he smirks. You pretend to ignore him as you stare out the window again to see Hogwarts students walking about the grounds, diverting from what was a mass group surrounding a tree.
'Sirius, what were you doing before you got here?," you asked suspiciously. He held up his hands in submission.
'That idiot Severus was following us around again.'
'Why can't you just leave him alone?'
'It was mostly Pro- I mean James-'
'Mmh, I don't really care who. What's your deal? Is it because he's Slytherin?'
He paused.'Y'know how my friends feel about them,' he sighed. You nodded.
'Which is why you see me here, and not down there," you say, looking down at the grounds again.
'I don't think of you like them,' he said.
'Not like a girlfriend, I hope.' He gives you a puzzled expression.
'And why is that?'
'It would be a poor reflection on my character,' you state matter-of-factly. 'All the girls you've dated are complete bimbos.' There was silence after that, silence interrupted by you two laughing at the awkwardness of the situation.
'Look,' you continue after calming yourself down. 'If you find yourself years from now, in a situation where blood status, and house has no effect on your judgment of the people you surround yourself with, then I might consider a date.' You smile a little seeing him look flustered.
'It's a deal.'
~Two years later~
You had your dream job at the Ministry of Magic, as a member of the International Magic Cooperation department. That same year, you became a member of the Order of the Phoenix, along with a few familiar faces.
Recently, you had been invited to an evening party hosted by Dumbledore to welcome the new recruits. After greeting Albus and thanking him, you spot a familiar face in a crowd of people.
