So Harry Potter is the love interest 2 days in a row, I realized just now. Oops. A continuation off of DA Meetings, a previous chapter. Enjoy.

You and the rest of the DA were continuing off of doing the expelliarmus spell. You'd volunteer to practice with Neville, who has having a harder time compared to everyone else. He prepared to cast it on you for what felt like for the hundredth time, until your amazement, he knocked the wand right out of your hand. The Patil sisters ran over to him, beaming, and you joined the crowd of others congratulating him on his feat.

"Fantastic, Neville," Harry said, giving him a pat on the shoulder. "Well done." Neville looked all together surprised and proud, and you were happy for him.

"A little faith goes a long way," you told him.

"Thank you, (y/n)," Neville huffed, and was swarmed by the entire class. It went unnoticed to you that Harry weaved out of the crowd by the doors, and waited until he had everyone's attention for one final announcement.

"That's it for this lesson, now we're not going to be meeting again until after the holidays." Nearly everyone sighed in disappointment. "So just keep practicing on your own the best that you can, and well done everyone; great, great work." You clapped along with your classmates, and like them you got ready to leave. The meetings would be the one thing you missed about school when you left, and the Room of Requirement became a haven. You've befriended so many people here; Neville, Parvarti, Hermione, Ron, Fred, George, and Ginny. Not even friends for the sake of friends, you trusted them as much as they trusted you. Together you all surpass Umbridge to learn magic you weren't supposed to. Almost like a thrown-together family, as corny as it sounded to you. And of course, there was Harry.

He seemed to be lagging behind, not joining his two best friends when they left. And something kept you rooted in that same spot, something you were unaware of. There was still presence in the room. Cho Chang, was too on standby. She was obviously making random glances over her shoulder to see if Harry was still there.

"I can distract her for you." Luna's surprise appearance startled you.

"Who? Why?"

"I'll leave that for you to figure out," she smiled politely, skipping over towards your fellow Ravenclaw.

"Come here, Cho! I found some Blubbering Humdingers by the exit." Luna took hold of her wrist, leading her towards the grand door. "I think they went out this way!"

"Luna, I-," but her words were cut off by your friend's closing the door behind them. You and Harry were apparently sharing similar thoughts, and burst out laughing.

"Hanging out with Luna might be too daunting for her," you said, coming back down from your laughs. You immediately regretted saying that out loud. But then again, you thought you were friendly enough with Harry. Certainly he wouldn't notice how you're able to openly share your thoughts with him. Judging by his face, he was currently figuring out whether he should start to do the same.

"(Y/n), I don't think I ever got to thank you for inviting me last time."

"Oh that, that was nothing." In an attempt to be nonchalant, you stuck your wand behind your ear, and walked over to the mirror where Cho stood at. Your eyes glazed over the newspaper clippings, and that photo of Cedric taken at the Triwizard Tournament.

"I had a lot of fun."

"Yeah, me too." Oh Merlin, he's closer now. Try not to make a bloody idiot out of yourself.

You heard an odd sparking sound from above you, and looked up to find its source. Water was crystallizing on a growing, green plant with small white flowers blossoming from its ends.

"Mistletoe," he said under his breath.

Rolf calls it the kissing plant, you thought.

"Too bad she's not under here with you." You didn't want to even look at him anymore. You thought it was obvious you were referring to Cho, and your cheeks burned with mortification. You couldn't imagine any alternate universe where the Chosen One would feel the same way about you the way you did about him.

"Why would I want anyone else under here with me?" The question was unremarkably sincere, you were surprised you didn't completely melt under his gaze. Your lips met his, and all anticipation became a distant memory. Your fingers intertwined as the kiss deepened. It went on for longer than your mind could try to keep up with. Any signs of stopping were absolute, and you drifted away into complete bliss.

Harry Potter liked you, after all.
