Your closest friend, Tina, had recently become an Auror. This too meant, she was too busy for you two to hang out as much. The only plus that came to it was you worked in the same building, even if it still felt like you were on two different continents at times. You worked as a Curse-Breaker in the Office for Removal of Curses, Jinxes, and Hexes, which meant you traveled. A lot. And less time with Tina. Whom you were secretly crushing on since one crazy adventure involving her sister, a Brit, a No-maj, and a Niffler.

One lunch break, you stopped by the Wand Permit Office, where her sister Queenie worked. It would be too risky to go to the Auror's office and go see her directly; they could be having an important meeting or she could be doing field work. You gave a light tap on her door.

"Come in," you heard her squeak on the other side. When you came in, she had a thick pile of paperwork stacked in front of her, which she shoved aside immediately. "How are you, dear?"

"Getting by," you sighed and laughed. She chuckled.

"Busy as ever, but I don't wanna yap." She paused to tuck some hair behind her ear. "I know you're looking for Tina, and she's got some official Auror business right now."

Let's just say for simplicity's sake, Queenie was the only person who knew about your feelings for Tina because of her Legilimency.

"I figured, just wanted to check," you said with a forced smile. "See ya around, I guess." You turned to leave when she squealed from behind you.

"Oh my, (y/n)! You're totally *goofy!" Your cheeks flushed.

"Your sister and I get along well," you put, trying to act casual. She had on the biggest grin.

"Oh, this's something special, I just know it!" She gracefully stood from her chair and walked over to hug you. She smelled sweetly of perfume. "You gotta tell her."

"It just don't seem right. We could never be, not a hundred years from now."

"Come on! Don't you think, I of all people don't know nothing about of forbidden romance." You knew she was referring to the no-Maj, Jacob. "Do you think I'd be pushing you to do this if I didn't know if she'd want it to or not?" She made to excellent points, both in which you'd hope to hear by her voice, and not the one in your own head.

"Alright, I'll do it." She squealed, jumping up from her desk to give you a hug. When she released you, she had a huge grin plastered to her face.

"Good luck."

"Thank you. Bye, Queenie."

"Toodles," she waved. You left with her office door closed, your heartbeat quickening at her proposition. You had a plan; tell Tina how you felt. Easy, right? Except you had no idea when you'll even get a moment to tell her. There was never a break in the day. And if there was, you always seemed to just miss each other.

'Oh, I just saw her looking for you.'

'Oh, she's working on a case right now.'

If only things didn't feel so impossible.

"Ms. (l/n), what do you think you're doing wandering about?"

"It's my lunch, Aberthany."

"Oh, well then... we need a curse-breaker to come look at this. So since you're not too busy...," he made a gesture for you to follow him. You did so begrudgingly. You followed his steps about the building, until finally you reached the landing of the Magical Congress.

"Thank you for coming on such short notice." Had they been looking for me, specifically? I thought he'd just ran into me on accident.

"Of course, Madam President." She gave you a nod of approval, stepping aside to show you the object cursed. You could hardly concentrate, because Tina's eyes have been on you ever since you entered the room.

You tried not to look up at her too often, it was hard to resist. You could see her trying to look as professional as the other Aurors, but to you she just looked more adorable.

"Do you mind if I have some time to look this over?," you asked. It was hard to concentrate with everyone looking.

"Of course, (l/n)," said the President. You thanked her before taking the trinket and slipping out. "Where'r you going, Goldstein?" You turn around. Tina was following you out as well.

"I was just gonna fill (y/n) in on the case y'know it might help with her curse...breaking."

"Very well," she sighed.

"Thank you, Madam President." You and Tina silently shuffled out of the great room, back in the direction you came. Aberthany shot you a suspicious look on the way out.

"Good to finally see you."

"Yeah, you too, (y/n)." The awkwardness there was when you reached your office was so thick, it hung in the air like humidity on a rainy day. "Listen, I've got something that's been on my mind lately." You paused to catch your breath.

"Tina, there'r these things I've been feeling, things people are shunned and locked away for. But to hell with it! Tina...." The words became clogged in your throat. "...I wanna be with you!" Her eyes widened. There was no sound other than city goers and car horns. It was like seeing her for the first time. Soon, you were making the big leap. Your body surges with warmth as your lips connect. Her cheeks are beyond soft to hold. She smells wonderful, perhaps even better than her sister. Her smell draws you in, and you never want to leave. To your relief, she pulls you closer into her, so your bodies fit into each other.

"I've been wanting to do that for years now," she panted. You smile and kiss her one more time, quick and over too soon.

"Me too."

*in love

Hope this makes up for the sad excuse of yesterday's update. Sweet dreams, everyone.
