August, 2011
It was another normal Saskatchewan day, like any other. The sun was blistering hot, towering over people. Everywhere, people were trying to escape the extreme heat. Whether if it was wearing shorts, drink a frozen bottle of water, eating their ice-cream as quickly as they could, or wearing a hat to protect their skin.
Marie, CJ, Tiffany, Félicité, and Lacey were used to this weather, however. They all knew what to do: stay inside. They were gathered in Marie's Living Room in her house she shared with CJ, in Saskatoon. CJ, like usual was flipping through he channels as she sat on the ground; any moment now, she was going to complain that her foot fell asleep. "Could this be any more boring?" questioned Lacey.
"I think today will be different... that something exciting will happen!" admitted Félicité.
"Yeah something exciting will happen," agreed Tiffany shifting her body into another position on Marie's white leather couch. "CJ's actually going to pick a channel," Tiffany joked.
"No, I mean something big and unexpected!" yelled Félicité enthusiastically.
"Félicité, don't be so optimistic," advised Marie, Félicité crinkled her nose at Marie. "That will probably be the only exciting thing that's going to happen today."
"I'm taking Félicité's side!" shrieked Tiffany.
"Thank you!"
"Tiffany, why do you choose now to not agree with us? We're obviously right," Lacey glanced over at Lacey.
Tiffany began to smirk. "If Liam texting you, asking if me and everyone else, meaning you guys; wanted to come to Edmonton to watch the World Juniors is boring, than I don't know what is exciting," she explained.
"Making it to the top of Mount Everest?" questioned Marie.
"Watching CJ actually pick a channel for once?" joked Lacey.
"Make Lacey shut up?" sneered CJ.
"Watch the Royal Wedding?" Tiffany butt in. Everyone's attention was on her. "Hey, I want to be a princess... sue me. One day Harry... one day," she whispered.
CJ stared up at Tiffany. "Anyways!" she yelled. "What can be more exciting than all the things we listed... minus your really creep one."
"Hello? Did you not hear me?" she questioned.
Everyone shook their head. "Liam texted me and asked all of us to go to Edmonton to watch the World Juniors." Tiffany smiled but no one started to celebrate.
"I don't even like hockey," commented CJ.
"No you don't but, there will be cute, single guys our age. Who doesn't like odds of one of us getting a date with one of them?" asked Tiffany.
