A/N: I wanted to put something up before I have to go back to school. Because I don't know how often I'll be able to update. So here you go! I hope you like it!

We were still standing in the meadow; the sun beating down on us. "So what exactly do we do now?" Andrew asked, glancing over at me.

"Well... I didn't think that far ahead." I muttered. Even though I knew exactly what I had to do.

"You have an ulterior motive. You being hopelessly in love with me was only a cover up." Andrew said, scrutinizing me.

"I am in love with you. Maybe not hopelessly in love." I admitted. He looks hurt. He lowers his head a little. I instantly feel sorrow.

"So what's your real reason?" he whispers, still hurt. It was evident in his voice.

"Well the Shinies and the Shadows are at war. They always have been. But it needs to come to an end. And soon. I need your help, Andrew." I tell him.

"How can I help?" he mutters.

"I didn't want to get stuck here without you again. It was so hard to be in a prison cell, knowing that you weren't there. The only thing that helped me escape was your memory, a light in all the dark. A shiny thing in the darkness of a shadow."

"How do we beat the Shadows?" he asks the key question.

"I'm not sure yet. We have to find out." I say, hopefully.

"How? Some sort of clue?" he asked. It was a rhetorical question but then I saw a glint in the reflective surface of the pond. I bent down on my hands and knees and reached my hand down. My hand grasped a cool, firm object. It was a silver locket. With a diamond placed at the top. I ran my finger over the smooth surface and I popped it open in my hand. Inside, there was a little picture. There were three girls, all wearing a locket exactly like this one. They weren't... human though. "They're mermaids." Andrew breathed as he looked over my shoulder.

"So there are clues! Ha!" I said smugly to him.

"So now what? We must need the other two lockets. To end the war. Where could they be?" he asked.

"Well, since they're clearly mermaids in the picture, we should go to Echo Cove." I reason.

So we had gone to Echo Cove. And came out with nothing. Not one of them would listen to me and all of them had their hands roaming all over Andrew. I had eventually gotten a disgusted expression on my face as I dragged Andrew out with me. "They seemed nice!" he protested, a frown on his face.

"They were complete sluts." I muttered.

"No, they were complete mermaids!" he said. His eyes were dilated. Meaning that the mermaids had probably put some sort of charm on him through their words. They were most likely sirens.

"You're brainwashed, Andrew." I said, my eyes narrowed.

"No, I am not. Do you think they were interested?" he asked, acting all insecure.

"No, they were completely uninterested. Let's go, we have two more lockets to find." I scoffed.

"Are you sure--? We could go back and see ig--" I shook my head as he started saying that.

"We're not going back. Not ever. And you're never laying eyes on one of them again." I say, still half way dragging him.

"Do I hear a hint of jealousy? Is that what that is?" he asks, curiously.
