~Chapter 6: Rejection~

EDWARD
We all looked in the direction Bella sped off in which was the house making me smile slightly "she worries too much" Jacob said beside me "can't blame her" I smirked as I knew he was itching to see Renesmee but he knew he had to see Rachel first "go see your sister then drop by at the house" I clapped him on the shoulder as I walked to Carlisle while Jacob was cheering in his head- 'father-in-law accepted me!'

That was one of the many thoughts running through his head which made me shake my head as I snorted "in your dreams Jacob" I said and he very well heard me but it didn't seem to faze him making me shake my head a little.

I saw Sam in his human form so I walked over to him "Sam, I am really sorry for rejecting Paul" I apologised out of courtesy "it's alright Edward, I understand your worries concerning Paul and to me, he needs to win your trust over first" he smiled slightly "thank you Sam" I smiled and turned to walk away but Sam called out to me which made me furrow my eyebrows as I turned back around "you made some pretty cute children" he complimented seeming a bit awkward as he spoke "thanks, they seem to have warmed up to you" I said with a small smile as I faced him "yeah I guess, we look forward to a fruitful friendship with the Cullen Clan" Sam stated and an expression of shock was painted on my face as I was rendered speechless.

"Of course Sam, we do as well" Carlisle smiled coming to stand next to me since I was incapable of forming the right words "but the treaty-" I started but Sam shook his head, stopping me from saying anything else "Edward, how much longer are we going to keep this internal battle going on between the two groups? You, the Cullens have never done anything to harm the humans and I personally think that it would be much easier for all of us to interact with each other in a friendly manner. Two of our pack members have imprinted on your daughters and I, as alpha of the Quileute Pack, assure you that the peace between us will be maintained" Sam explained, putting out his hand for one of us to shake "with pleasure Sam, the treaty will still be that we can only hunt on our side of the land but the pack members are always welcome over" Carlisle smiled, shaking Sam's hand firmly "the Cullens are always welcome at our place as well" Sam smiled and walked back to his pack who were all there except for Paul and Jacob "shall we head home?" Carlisle asked diverting my gaze away from the wolves "yeah" I nodded and we all walked back home.
We sat on the couch waiting for Bella and Rosalie to come downstairs but I immediately darted up when I felt Paul's presence as he knocked on the door so I walked over and opened it "what are you doing here Lahote?" I demanded as soon as he came into sight "Edward can I please see Addison?" he asked pleadingly, his eyes shining with desperation "Paul we've told you before that you can't see Addison" I glared at him but he just pushed me aside and walked in so I zoomed in front of him "get out of my house" I growled, ready to attack if needed.

"I need to see her Edward!" he yelled frantically "I'm a vampire, you don't need to yell" I grumbled, blocking his path "Edward let me see her" he growled warningly and I raised an eyebrow challengingly "you really think I would let a hot headed player like you come anywhere near my daughter?" I growled back, pushing him slightly causing him to start shaking and that's when Bella came downstairs.

'Time to convince the mother dearest' I heard Paul think so I glared at him.

Bella, my love, you have the worst timing.....
BELLA
I looked at Edward questioningly but he just shrugged, gesturing at Paul "I am sorry Paul" I said and he looked at me angrily "why Bella?!" he yelled and I cringed slightly "you don't have to yell, I'm a vampire" I mumbled and Edward laughed whilst Paul groaned, running a hand down the side of his face.

"Bella listen, please I'm begging you, let me see Addison" he begged again and he looked close to tears which made me falter a bit "Paul...I can't risk my daughter's life" I stated, trying to make him see my point of view and he growled lowly "Bella please!" he pleaded and I sighed.
