Determination is something rather volatile, it's something which can make you stand up for yourself or even push you to achieve your ambitions.

For me, however, determination was fuelling every step I took towards my locker on Monday morning to catch a hold of Paul Lahote so that he could give me damn straight answers to my questions. Determination was also what pumped in my blood on Tuesday morning as I stalked through the hallways of my school trying to nab the culprit who was making my head spin. Determination was also what spurred me to march up and down the carpark on Wednesday morning before school so that I could just bloody pulverise the infuriating male.

Unfortunately for me, neither did I get answers on Monday nor did I get a hold of him on Tuesday and I didn't get to pulverise him on Wednesday because he simply did not come to school.

Desperation, therefore, is what I had resorted to on Thursday morning as I adjusted my bag on my shoulder and rested against the locker next to Jacob's.

"What age do werewolves normally phase?" I blurted out before I could change my mind and revert back to silently torturing myself with questions "good morning to you too" Jacob chuckled before he turned to face me and arched an eyebrow at my deadpan expression "around sixteen" he answered before he got back to retrieving his books.

That's impossible, I met that wolf nearly ten years ago...

"How old is Paul?" I furrowed my eyebrows as I straightened up "th-" Jacob started but paused abruptly and I arched an eyebrow expectantly "throw me out of a window! Are you crushing on a certain someone?" Jacob smirked teasingly and I narrowed my eyes into a bemused glare "you really want me to throw you out of a window? Believe you me-" I brought my hand in front of his face and pressed my thumb to my index finger before giving a small gap between them "-I'm this close to doing just that" I used my eyes to gesture at my fingers which Jacob followed and gulped slightly.

"Nineteen. He's nineteen" Jacob answered, closing his locker but before either of us could say anything, the usual giggling and gossiping started which only happens around one person.

Paul Lahote.

Huh, speak of the devil.

I turned around to see the devastatingly handsome male making his way over to his locker "catch ya later" I mumbled, not looking at Jake as I stalked over to my locker, ready to confront him and get answers but I stopped short when I saw a girl walk up to Paul and started talking to him.

Narrowing my eyes at the pair, I scowled at the girl as I mentally willed her to do an about-turn and march right back to the place she came from before I did it for her.

Wait...am I feeling jealous?

I internally scoffed at the mere idea of being jealous of a girl talking to Paul, I mean, it's not like he's my boyfriend or anything and she's just using her words which means that she's just having a friendly conversation with him. Nodding to myself, I decided that I was just being silly for having the ugly green monster rear its head for no rhyme or reason until the girl placed a hand on Paul's arm which made my jaw unhinge.

That's it! Get your bloody hands off!

"Excuse me, can you move?" I tapped the girl's shoulder and arched an eyebrow as she glowered at me "my locker's here" I jerked my thumb in the direction of my locker which she was conveniently standing in front of and my gaze challenged her to try something on me "see you around Paul" she smiled coyly at him and my upper lip curled slightly before she pranced off.

See you around Paul...like hell you will!

Yanking my locker open, I jostled my books around harsher than I intended to and sighed before leaning back and looking up at Paul who was very merrily ignoring me "are you going to hear me out now?" I questioned, crossing my fingers behind my back but I still didn't get any response from him.
