Chapter 19

Lin:

I stood in front of my open closet and thought about what to wear for the upcoming party.

"What are you doing, darling?"

I turned around and saw Dad standing in the doorway.

"I'm thinking about what to wear. Mike and I are going to a party later." I said and turned back to my closet.

I heard footsteps coming closer.

"May I?" He asked.

I nodded and took a step to the side.

He searched for a while and finally pulled out various pieces of clothing.

Dark jeans, a black shirt and a black leather jacket.

"Sexy but still casual. I'm sure Mike loves you in everything you wear, but he certainly loves that on you." Dad said with a wink.

Smiling, I embraced my father's waist.

"Thank you, Dad. What would I do without you?" I chuckled.

"I don't know. Maybe starve to death? Because you cook at least as badly as Roman." He replied playfully.

"I'd be such a bad wife to Mike." I laughed.

Dad kissed me on the forehead.

"That will come in time, darling. Now get ready before your boyfriend arrives and you're not even half finished yet." He said lovingly.

"You're right. Thank you again. I love you."

"I love you too."

He left me alone so I could get ready.

I put on the clothes he had been looking for and went to the bathroom to take care of my hair and make-up.

"Whoa. Baby, you look so hot. I almost burn myself on it." Mike said when he saw me and put his hands around my waist.

I rolled my eyes playfully and smiled.

"Thank you." I just replied and put my arms around his neck.

"Are you ready?" He wanted to know with a slight grin.

I just nodded and kissed him for a second.

"Okay. Let's go."

Alexis and the other boys were already waiting for us in front of the warehouse.

As always, she looked incredibly good.

She was wearing a jumpsuit with short legs and a kind of dark red bustier underneath.

Vans with black and white plaid pattern.

Her hair was curly and pinned up with a red bandana around it.

She also wore a thick black eyeliner line and red lipstick.

Everything about her kind of reminded me of the
'50s.

Alexis was just a rebel.

I fell for Joe standing a little away from us.

He leaned against a wall, his hands in his pockets and stared at the floor in front of him.

I let go of Mike's hand and walked towards him.

"Everything okay? Now don't say yes. I can see something's wrong." I said.

Joe looked up.

"You're right. Something's not right. But I can't talk about it with the others." He replied with a sad smile.
