Chapter 17

Mike:

I watched Lin sleep for a while.

She looked so peaceful.

And so beautiful.

I was so worried about her.

She didn't deserve all this shit.

She should be happy.

She should be able to look at herself in the mirror without hating herself.

Lin just didn't see what I saw in her.

I kissed her on the forehead.

"My silly little angel."

With her in my arms, I finally fell asleep.

I was awakened by Lin moving in my arms.

"I'm sorry, Mikey. I didn't want to wake you up yet." She mumbled as she sit up in bed.

"It's okay. I'm not tired anymore. How did you sleep?" I replied and also sit up.

She shrugged.

I put my arm around her waist and kissed her temple.

"How do you feel?" I asked.

"Better then last night." She answered.

"That's good. What time is it?"

She looked over to her nightstand.

"05:37 am. Again, I'm sorry. I really didn't want to wake you."

"Again, it's okay. But it looks like we got plenty of time before school starts."

I lay down again and stretched out my arms to her.

"Come here. I want to cuddle with my favorite human."

She smiled and lay down with me.

Her head was bedded on my chest and her right arm was around my stomach.

I turned on my side so I could hold her in my arms.

"I love you." I said with my eyes closed and put my chin on her head.

"I love you too." It came back muffled, which made me chuckle a little.

Around half past six I sneaked out of the window again to quickly go home to get ready for school.

"See you later, baby. I'll be back in about an hour." I said to her with one or two kisses.

As soon as I had climbed through my bedroom window, I heard a voice that was all too familiar to me.

"Michael Kenji Shinoda! Where in God's name have you been?!" My mother Donna shouted angrily.

"Keep your voice down! You'll wake Jay!" I hissed.

My little brother Jason got surprisingly really sick yesterday and had a high fever.

I wanted him to rest in peace without our mother waking him up with her bitching.

"I was with Lin last night. She needed me." I said.

"I told you this girl was a bad influence on you. I don't want you to see her anymore. She's not good for you, my boy." Mom said with a sorry face.

I narrowed my eyes.

"You don't even know Lin. Don't judge her in advance. I love her and you won't stop me from seeing her!"

Now she seemed angry.

"What's so great about this Lin?! Why do you want to be with her so badly?! What does she have that other girls don't?!" She wanted to know from me.
